My Ultimate Morrissey Set List

I have NEVER been disappointed by a Morrissey concert, or indeed it's content. I have enjoyed every set of every show, and I LOVE the fact that every time I have seen him, there have been different songs. With most major artists, including the likes of The Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney, who both have huge back catalogues, you can pretty much predict that certain songs will appear, whereas with Morrissey, you can't, and that is one of the beauties of seeing him live.

Having said that, in much the same way as Desert Island Discs invites somebody to choose the songs they would take with them to a desert island, I have decided to create my 'Ultimate Morrissey Set List.' To arrive at the ultimate set list, I am going to work my way through a list of the tracks on each Morrissey/The Smiths album, and take my favourite songs from each. I will then whittle the list down to just twenty one songs, and then put them in a set list order. If anybody would like to write their own 'Ultimate Set List' in the comments section, then please feel free. Here we go:

The Smiths: Reel Around The Fountain, Still Ill, Hand In Glove, What Difference Does It Make?, I Don't Owe You Anything.

Hatful Of Hollow: William, It Was Really Nothing, This Charming Man, How Soon Is Now?, Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want.

Meat Is Murder: The Headmaster Ritual, I Want The One I Can't Have, What She Said, Barbarism Begins At Home, Meat Is Murder.

The Queen Is Dead: The Queen Is Dead, I Know It's Over, Never Had No One Ever, There Is a Light That Never Goes Out, Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others.

The World Won't Listen: Shakespeare's Sister, Shoplifters of the World Unite, Stretch Out and Wait, Rubber Ring.

Louder Than Bombs: Sheila Take A Bow, Sweet and Tender Hooligan.

Strangeways Here We Come: A Rush and a Push and the Land Is Ours, Death of a Disco Dancer, Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me, Unhappy Birthday, I Won't Share You.

Viva Hate: Everyday Is Like Sunday, Suedehead.

Bona Drag: November Spawned a Monster.

Kill Uncle: Sing Your Life.

Your Arsenal: You're Gonna Need Someone on Your Side, The National Front Disco, We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful, I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday, Tomorrow.

Beethoven Was Deaf: Sister I'm A Poet.

Vauxhall and I: Now My Heart Is Full, Billy Budd, Hold on to Your Friends, Why Don't You Find Out for Yourself, Speedway.

Southpaw Grammar: The Teachers Are Afraid of the Pupils, Reader Meet Author, The Operation.

Maladjusted: Maladjusted, Alma Matters, Trouble Loves Me.

My Early Burglary Years: I've Changed My Plea to Guilty.

You Are The Quarry: Irish Blood, English Heart, I Have Forgiven Jesus, Come Back to Camden, The World Is Full of Crashing Bores, How Can Anybody Possibly Know How I Feel?, First of the Gang to Die, Let Me Kiss You, I Like You, You Know I Couldn't Last, Teenage Dad on His Estate, Friday Mourning, The Never-Played Symphonies, Mexico.

Ringleader of the Tormentors: Dear God Please Help Me, You Have Killed Me, Life Is a Pigsty.

Years of Refusal: Something Is Squeezing My Skull, Black Cloud, All You Need Is Me, One Day Goodbye Will Be Farewell, It's Not Your Birthday Anymore, You Were Good In Your Time, Sorry Doesn't Help, I'm OK by Myself.

Swords: Shame Is The Name.

Unreleased: Scandinavia, Action Is My Middle Name, People Are the Same Everywhere.

I now have eighty songs that I have to get down to twenty one. I think the easiest thing to do is just work from the top and list the MUST haves, and see how many I'm left with. Here goes:

Reel Around the Fountain, What Difference Does it Make?, William, It Was Really Nothing, This Charming Man, How Soon Is Now?, The Headmaster Ritual, Barbarism Begins at Home, The Queen Is Dead, I Know It's Over, There Is a Light That Never Goes Out, Death of a Disco Dancer, Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me, Everyday Is Like Sunday, Suedehead, November Spawned a Monster, The National Front Disco, Trouble Loves Me, I've Changed My Plea to Guilty, Come Back to Camden, The World Is Full of Crashing Bores, First of the Gang to Die, Let Me Kiss You, I Like You, Teenage Dad on His Estate, Friday Mourning, Dear God Please Help Me, Life Is a Pigsty, I'm OK by Myself, Shame Is the Name, Scandinavia.

I now have thirty songs which I need to get down to twenty one. My list surprisingly has NO tracks from; Kill Uncle, Vauxhall and I or Southpaw Grammar. I shall now reluctantly ditch; Barbarism, Suedehead, First of the Gang, Teenage Dad, Friday Mourning, Dear God, OK by Myself, Shame Is the Name and Scandinavia, so here is my ultimate set list:

1. What Difference Does It Make? (The Smiths)
2. William, It Was Really Nothing (Hatful Of Hollow)
3. Everyday Is Like Sunday (Viva Hate)
4. November Spawned a Monster (Bona Drag)
5. Death of a Disco Dancer (Strangeways Here We Come)
6. Come Back to Camden (You Are The Quarry)
7. Reel Around the Fountain (The Smiths)
8. This Charming Man (Hatful Of Hollow)
9. The National Front Disco (Your Arsenal)
10. Life is a Pigsty (Ringleader of the Tormentors)
11. I Like You (You Are The Quarry)
12. Let Me Kiss You (You Are The Quarry)
13. Trouble Loves Me (Maladjusted)
14. I've Changed My Plea to Guilty (My Early Burglary Years)
15. The Headmaster Ritual (Meat Is Murder)
16. The World Is Full of Crashing Bores (You Are The Quarry)
17. I Know It's Over (The Queen Is Dead)
18. Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me (Strangeways Here We Come)
19. The Queen Is Dead (The Queen Is Dead)
Encore
20. How Soon Is Now? (Hatful Of Hollow)
21. There is a Light That Never Goes Out (The Queen Is Dead)

Day 351 Thursday August 30th 2012

I am holed up in a hotel in Loughborough with absolutely NOTHING to do. The hotel is bland, the outlook is bland. The weather is bland. My word of the day is......well, you get the picture.

LOUGHBOROUGH IN THE OLDEN DAYS. IT IS NOW MUCH GREYER.

The MorrisseysWorld blog thingy has reappeared, but all the old content is still missing. There are just the last two articles from earlier this month, and the chat room (The Worlds End) is still there, although none of the regulars seem to be using it much. Our Mozzer does however, seem to be back in full swing on twitter. I can only guess that he is bored, but then again, if I were to say he were bored, he would say he is not bored, and anyway, how can anybody possibly know how he feels?

Since returning to twitter 5 days ago, Mozzer has had a go at a whole host of people, and covered many topics. He continues to deny that he is the REAL Morrissey, but then drops in the odd tweet to prove that he is. A perfect example of this is a tweet from Aug 25th which read, "Following on from my lead, I would like to suggest Tony Bliar registers a Tony Blair parody account and simply tells the truth!" This is Moz ADMITTING that he is tweeting as 'Parody Moz'. However, a tweet from our old friend Banjaxer, which Moz then retweeted, read, "Is @MorrisseysWorld the real @MorrisseysWorld or is it Morrissey pretending to be @MorrisseysWorld." This implies that '@MorrisseysWorld' ISN'T the REAL Morrissey, but the REAL Morrissey DOES have access to the '@MorrisseysWorld' twitter account, and sometimes PRETENDS to be 'Parody Moz'! Confused? You will be.

WHO IS MORRISSEYSWORLD? (Incidentally, type 'Who Is MorrisseysWorld' into Google Images, it's like seeing the whole MW story in pictures).

Elton John and Madonna have once again been at the forefront of Our Mozzer's venomous (and bluntly honest) tweets, whilst he has also exchanged pleasantries with both Boy George, and former bass player, Jonny Bridgwood (@JohnnyBridgwood). When I say 'former' bass player, I don't mean Bridgwood is a former bass player, I mean he is Morrissey's former bass player, although I have NO IDEA who Bridgwood now plays bass for, and to be honest, I have no interest either! Our Mozzer asked Bridgwood to ask him a question that only the real Morrissey could possibly know, so Bridgwood asked, "Who's the cook at Hook End", to which Mozzer replied, "How the hell would I know? I keep telling them I'm not Morrissey and so does Morrissey, but they won't believe me - or him." Jonny Bridgwood sent no further tweets, and DOESN'T follow '@MorrisseysWorld', so I guess he took Our Mozzer at his word. It is incredible that all these people who have played with Morrissey, really don't know him at all, but I bet ALL of them fill there lives talking abut him.

JONNY BRIDGWOOD - WHATEVER HAPPENS, THE HIGHPOINT OF HIS LIFE WILL HAVE BEEN PLAYING WITH MORRISSEY - FACT.

So, what does one do in a bland hotel, with nothing to do? There are of course a number of answers, but I have decided to go through a list of all of Morrissey's songs, and create my 'Ultimate Moz Set List.' I shall publish it tomorrow.

There is still no sign of the answers to my questions from Morrissey. I shall give him 48 hours to produce the answers, and if they don't appear, I shall take legal action. Mozzer, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Don't ever mess with a bored Rat in a bland hotel.

Day 349 Tuesday August 28th 2012

Uk 'parody rapper', Dizzee Rascal, has made my day. When Our Mozzer took to twitter a couple of days ago, and asked Dizzee (@DizzeeRascal) why he tried so hard to make himself interesting, and why he referred to women as "biatches", Dizzee ignored him. Yesterday, after a Dizzee fan tweeted to say that he had started rapping because of Dizzee, Our Mozzer responded by saying, "Yet another good reason for Dizzee to retire." This was too much for Dizzee, who mustered every ounce of wit he possesses, to come back at Our Mozzer with the following retort, "stop following me then you silly miserable cunt! Do 1."

Dizzee Rascal is unfortunately a perfect example of both the current music industry and Britain as a whole (hole?). All the current British 'singers'(?) are just cheap imitations of the crap that is coming out of America. I guess it is no different to the late 1950's, when the British singers of the time, like Cliff Richard, were just cheap imitations of Elvis. The difference between then and now, is that Elvis had talent, he could sing. The current crop of American singers, whether they be the rappers or the poster kids like Bieber, have NOTHING to offer.

The only hope is that a new crop of bands come through to revolutionise the music industry again. The Beatles and The Rolling Stones did it in the early 60's, a whole crop of bands did it in the early and mid 70's, The Smiths did it in the early 80's, and to a certain extent, Oasis did it in the 90's. It has now been a VERY long time since any 'proper' new bands emerged. Something HAS to happen to kill off the X Factor/Pop Idol garbage that has all but killed the music industry. Our Mozzer has yet again used twitter to demonstrate all that is wrong with modern Britain, but unfortunately nobody has noticed. It would be interesting to see what media coverage Mozzer's twittercisms received if his twitter account was accepted as being the REAL Moz. I expect the tabloids would just say it was 'miserable old Morrissey', but perhaps the intellectuals would realise that Moz spoke the truth. He is one of the VERY few famous people prepared to speak openly and honestly. SURELY intelligence is still valued in modern Britain? Perhaps I am being deluded. The one thing Dizzee Rascal doesn't need to be scared about, is smearing his lovely career by showing intelligence, it's an IMPOSSIBILITY!

It has been announced today in 'The Sun' (so it must be true), that our old friend Russell Brand, is dating Spice Girl Geri Halliwell. Let us hope that he can give her what she wants, what she really, really wants. All of us here at 'Following The Mozziah' HQ wish the pair the very best. I wonder if Geri knows about MorrisseysWorld. More to the point, I wonder if Geri knows about Gary!

Last week Boz Boorer (@Boz_Boorer) tweeted me to say, "as mentioned a few times, Boz_Boorer is official (just news directly from Boz, Lyn or Fabrique records)." I get the impression the tweet came from Michael from Fabrique records, who also tweeted to let me know Boz's new album, 'Some of the Parts', is out NEXT MONDAY. From the samples I've listened to so far, I REALLY like track 4, 'Bozanova'. It's a real summery song....it's just a shame summer is over.

And talking of summer being over, the cricket season is winding up (even though it never really got going), and in a weeks time, the kids will be back at school. I will have NOTHING to do. Perhaps it is my cue to FINALLY get writing. It has been nearly eight months since I gave up work, and I have written NOTHING, except this blog thingy. The question is, will I continue to write about Moz? I suppose it depends on whether he gives me anything to write about. Time as ever will tell.

Today's Twitterdilly Arms Top 10 Countdown was conducted NOT on twitter, but in the chat room of MorrisseysWorld. As the MW chat room was always at the bottom of the MW blog site, and as the MW blog has now disappeared, I have decided to call the MW chat room 'The Worlds End'. It is an alternative pub to the Twitterdilly Arms, just as 'The Flying Horse' (situated in Jubilee Terrace) is an alternative to Coronation Street's 'Rovers Return'. It is a modern day 'speakeasy'. As the chart wasn't 'performed' in 'The Twitterdilly Arms', I guess it's no longer the Twitterdilly Arms Top 10. I shall re-name it 'The Blue Rose Top 10'. Here is this weeks:

Day 347 Sunday August 26th 2012

Our Mozzer has returned to twitter. He is obviously so bored, that even the most boring medium in the world has an appeal.

There is still no sign of the interview.

True To You has announced some tour dates in Australia and New Zealand.

Today I spent a very dull day in Thorpe Park.

The End

Day 346 Saturday August 25th 2012

Yesterday morning, regular MorrisseysWorlder, Girl On Bike (GOB), left a comment on my blog saying that the MorrisseysWorld chat room was still up and running, with an address of: http://chatroll.com/embed/chat/morrisseysworld-chat?id=f1w_p-GET5u&platform=blogger&w=$0.

Early yesterday evening, I decided to pay the chat room a visit. It was empty, so I left a message, and then my internet connection dropped out (it's doing that a lot lately, I think I may need a better router/modem thingy). I fired it back up, and popped back to the empty little room, where I found Morrissey1959, just sitting there, minding his own business. Here are the 'highlights' (?) of our brief conversation:

Morrissey1959I smell a rat. We could do a spontaneous interview using this forum sometime in the distant future.

TheRatsBackWhat happened to the last interview?

Morrissey1959Oh it will be completed. I have been rather busy, you know; this and that; a bit of the other; many hours of languid boredom.

TheRatsBackDo you WANT to be bored?

Morrissey1959Boredom is the only thing which truly makes us interesting

TheRatsBackBoredom depresses me

Morrissey1959You must spend much of the cricket season scraping yourself off the linoleum

TheRatsBack I live for the cricket season....truly. You must live for the stage

Morrissey1959On stage I am superhuman and off stage I am less than human. It's a shame one spends most of one's life off stage. I wonder why the MWers and the ConMorrissey Theorists don't spend more time here. This little chat room is quite the best chat room on the interweb

TheRatsBackI like it here, can I stay?

Morrissey1959I know you're scribbling down this little interview for your delightfully obscure blog thing; to thrill the few and bore the masses. You will find an interview on your blog in a short while. If I could post a parody piece on your blog, well,  then I might.

TheRatsBackPlease do, the crowd would go wild.

And with that, he was gone. I love the fact that he used the word linoleum, NOBODY has lino anymore.....do they? So now, I continue to wait for the interview.

Day 345 Friday August 24th 2012

Well, well, well, the MorrisseysWorld chat room is still active, despite the rest of the blog having disappeared. The chat room can be found at: http://chatroll.com/embed/chat/morrisseysworld-chat?id=f1w_p-GET5u&platform=blogger&w=$0 . Earlier today, I decided to pop in to the chat room, and guess who I bumped into? Yep, Our Mozzer. I will let you know what he said tomorrow.

Thursday, 23 August 2012

Day 344 Thursday August 23rd 2012

The MorrisseysWorld blog has disappeared completely, the twitter account is no longer active, and the 'real' Morrissey hasn't been heard from in weeks. I have no Mozziah to follow, so I will now stop blogging and tweeting. I shall only return if one of the following happens:

1. Morrissey answers the questions that I asked last week
2. Morrissey appears with a blue rose
3. I decide I've got nothing better to do with my pitiful life, and start writing again

Thank you and goodbye.

Day 342 Tuesday August 21st 2012

The past four days has been nothing but glorious sunshine and non stop cricket (not the non stop cricket everybody played at school when you had to run whether you hit it or not). On Friday it was a visit to Langley Manor Cricket Club in the New Forest, Saturday and Sunday was at Ryde on the Isle of Wight, and yesterday was a trip to the beautiful Bath Cricket Club in Somerset. NOTHING could have been more quintessentially English than yesterday's game, although if we'd had Morrissey umpiring, with his quiff at the height of it's fame, that  might have just about sealed it.

BATH CRICKET CLUB - QUINTESSENTIALLY ENGLISH

Morrissey has not yet answered the questions posed to him last week on this blog, and there has been no sign of either 'Our Mozzer' or 'Mozzer Mozzer'. The MW twitter account has re-appeared, but nothing has been tweeted. The MW blog still remains (sort of) closed, but the prophecy page has been re-added.

With no Mozziah to follow, I will continue to play cricket and live a life away from the internet, although as there was no game today, I decided to pop into the Twitterdilly Arms and 'broadcast' the new Top 10....not 'arf.

THE TWITTERDILLY ARMS TOP 10 - WEEK BEGINNING SUNDAY AUGUST 19TH 2012

1. SCANDINAVIA/ACTION IS MY MIDDLE NAME (DOUBLE 'A' SIDE) (STUDIO IN SESSION) - MORRISSEY (NEW ENTRY)
2. THE KID'S A LOOKER (STUDIO IN SESSION) - MORRISSEY (NEW ENTRY)
3. HOW SOON IS NOW (LIVE IN EDINBURGH WITH LUMINOUS BLUE ROSE) - MORRISSEY (NEW ENTRY)
4. PEOPLE ARE THE SAME EVERYWHERE (STUDIO IN SESSION) - MORRISSEY (NEW ENTRY)
5. IN EVERY DREAM HOME A HEARTACHE - ROXY MUSIC (DOWN 4)
6. TROUBLE LOVES ME - MORRISSEY (NO CHANGE)
7. HEART - RITA PAVONE (NO CHANGE)
8. I KNOW IT'S OVER (LIVE IN MANCHESTER WITH GIANT RED ROSE) - MORRISSEY (DOWN 4)
9. STILL ILL (LIVE IN MANCHESTER WITH LUMINOUS BLUE ROSE ON STAGE) - MORRISSEY (DOWN 4)
10. MALADJUSTED (LIVE IN MANCHESTER) - MORRISSEY (DOWN 1)

The Twitterdilly Arms Top 10 can be 'heard' LIVE on twitter every Tuesday at 12.45PM uk time, by following @UpthePier.

Day 339 - Chats With Our Mozzer

On the evenings of Thursday August 9th, Friday 10th and Sunday 12th, Morrissey1959 entered the chat room of the MorrisseysWorld blogsite. I was on hand on the Thursday, and took a few notes. I wasn't around on the other two nights, but notes were taken by Heather Cat. Here is a brief summary of some of 'Our Mozzers' quotes:

THURSDAY AUGUST 9TH

- " I wrote every article (on the blog), even the awful ones."
-  "irony is important to any artiste."
-  "I stumble and fall through this life, I can't help playing easy to get. Of course it makes no sense for us to communicate through this mundane medium - each word lacks vitality and the caressing thump of the singing voice, like strawberries without cream, velvet sans slap, or David Showie minus his make-up. All I have in my soul to give I transmit willingly through song, whether on record or on stage. This leaves me bereft."

- "My life is merely a shadow. When I cry, the tears are those shed by Nico, like dead freesia petals falling to a concrete floor - frozen spring blossom of malcontent which was her rendition of 'Sunday Morning.' When I laugh it is an echo of Jimmy Clitheroe filtered through the mind-warping prism of Wilde's rapacious wit and mesmeric insight. From a certain point of view I do not exist at all, I am a trick of the light, a hoped-for poetic uncle, a child crying for attention in a world where  time is money and money is the only constant. The drip, drip, drip of marketing, the glad rattle of the corporate cash register, the endless round of interviews and conferences. These things slowly kill me, I know you understand. I know it."

- "Don't you think this has been the most incredibly intimate experience? Ourselves against the world. In fact, we are so disenfranchised, the world doesn't care enough to fight us - they simply ignore us."

- "Rat, I would be keen to see your blog continue, but somehow know it won't."

- 'mmedestaelghost' asked, "What was your favourite moment in the last year?" Morrissey replied, "Good question. It was: 1. Istanbul 2. Key to Tel Aviv 3. Reading SmallBoyJokes' comment today 4. Writing essay on the beginnings 5. Meeting an old friend for tea in Rome."

- Heather Cat asked, "Was there anything of note about Istanbul that we missed?" Morrissey replied, "You missed me shed a tear." SURELY, this HAS to have something to do with him holding 7 year old Carla on stage, but there is still NO Youtube footage of this moment, or indeed any other footage that shows a weeping Moz....or IS there?

- "My only ambitions are: to play cricket with the Rat at Shanklin Village; and to appear with a blue rose."

- "If this chat room became the home for all of you, I'd be thrilled. It's more personal than twitter. twitter is the kitchen, the blog is the sitting room and this is the bedroom."

- "The longest observer of the blog, the one who found it first - Simon Fuller." Is this REALLY true, or a Moz windup?

- Morrissey claimed that he had just one other twitter account and that he was just one other person on the blog. He said, "I am paulyoungmozfan and on the blog I am helena NS." I always suspected that he was both Paul Young and Helena Noble-Squire, but they are DEFINITELY NOT the ONLY other names Moz uses.

- "R is someone fairly famous. The truth will all emerge and of course nobody will believe it."

- "Sarah: 'And we always say to our candidates, don't worry, there's always something out there...even if it's the X Factor.' "

- "I am a fraud. There is no satisfaction in being 'the fake Mozza'. I am your Mozzer."

NOTES FROM HEATHER:

Items of note mentioned by Our Mozzer in the MW chatroom on August 10th & 12th:

- Not planning to release autobiography until 2015, so that it will cover his entire career

- Probably will resurrect the Attack label for new album. There's two albums worth of new material. People Are the Same will probably be a B-side.

- We've already been told that the upcoming US tour will be the 'ironic t-shirt tour' -COSH is just the beginning :)

-The True Artiste didn't wear a blue rose because he didn't want the blog to remain open. However, there's still hope for blue rose to be fulfilled (not for the purpose of re-opening the blog). The blue rose must be delivered ON STAGE (he tried to hint at this previously).

- He chose to cover 'To Give is the Reason I Live' because of Bans & Ejections Committee blog post, when he explains to Mikey the reason why he gave nothing.

- He said virtually everything he does comes from the blog: Boz in drag, finger lingerie, etc.

-He solved the debate about whether he sang 'I'm just a poor lonely bat' or 'I'm just a poor lonely rat' -he sang 'rat!' He said to notice the smirk on his face afterwards.

- He touched on Freemasonry and the fact that it's so pervasive in the music industry, it's difficult to have a successful career if you choose not to join.

- Favorite songs to sing: Paint a Vulgar Picture (which he said is due to be sung soon), November, Everyday is Like Sunday, There is a Light. First of the Gang is his favorite lyrically.

- Favorite music videos: Last of the Famous International Playboys, My Love Life, Stop Me, You Have Killed Me, The More You Ignore Me

This is not intended to be a complete summary of the chats, just the main points of interest. If I have overlooked something important, or didn't report something accurately, please leave a comment. It was such a privilege to have Our Mozzer join us for these chats, and now with the news of another interview coming, the pleasure and privilege continues. Heather

NOTE FROM RAT - Thanks to Heather for these notes, although why you Americans continue to leave out the letter 'u' from words like 'favourite' is bemusing, and frankly, just plain lazy. Morrissey would never do it, so you shouldn't either. It is time for the Americans to just say NO to their teachers, and INSIST on using the English language in the way it was devised. If we'd wanted to spell favourite without a u, we would have. Thank you.

Day 337 - Thursday August 16th 2012

On Monday, I played in a game of cricket, which saw me batting for quite a length of time with the son of David Icke, the once self proclaimed 'Son of God', which I guess makes his son the 'Grandson of God'(GOG), although I haven't heard him make such a claim, especially not out in the middle (cricketing term which means batting), and if he IS the GOG, then I don't think much to his Grandfather, as we were both caught, and our innings' ended.

David was watching the game, and as we all sat watching and chatting, David received a text asking him to appear on stage with The Charlatans at next years Isle of Wight Festival. David seemed to have no idea who The Charlatans are, but said the request had been made by some bloke called Tom Burgess. I asked David what they wanted him to 'DO' on stage? David replied, "play the guitar I guess", although I don't know if he was serious or not. I know he suffers from arthritis, but perhaps he plays guitar with his teeth.

I remarked that I wouldn't be surprised to find that Tim Burgess was 'into' Icke's ideas, as he appears to be quite a deep thinking person. Icke is particularly vocal regarding the New World Order, so I expect Morrissey would also find him quite interesting. David Icke is appearing at Wembley Arena on October 27th, with his show entitled 'Remember Who You Are.' GOG meanwhile, is appearing at a cricket ground near here, wherever HERE is!

DAVID ICKE - ANTI NEW WORLD ORDER

On Tuesday I soaked up the atmosphere in Cowes on the Isle of Wight, as this week is 'Cowes Week', one of the biggest events in the world yachting calendar. I have no interest whatsoever in sailing, but Cowes is always a great place to be during this famous week.

COWES - ONE OF THE BIGGEST YACHTING REGATTAS IN THE WORLD

Morrissey has yet to answer the questions that I and others posted yesterday, so for now, we wait. Perhaps it WASN'T the real Morrissey after all behind that now defunct twitter account, perhaps it was Richard Bailey, the man who has now come out and admitted that he was behind the Kevin Pietersen twitter account. Or was it Kevin Pietersen behind MorrisseysWorld? Or perhaps it was David Icke! The mystery continues.

I have just taken a peak into twitter, and seen that 'Official' Boz Boorer has been asked by '@RFerdenzi' to confirm that the now defunct 'Drag Boz' account was a fake. '@Boz_Boorer' replied, "the BozBoorer (drag) account was fake (message from Michael/Fabrique." Seeing as Michael from the  Fabrique record label seems to be posting the majority of the tweets on the 'official' Boz twitter account, I now declare it ISN'T Boz's account, it is run by somebody else, and is therefore a fake account!

Finally, 'Emotional Air Raid (EARS) has found a Youtube clip of her throwing her luminous blue rose onto the stage in Edinburgh. You can clearly see it at 1 minute 06: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jos9TyF99VU&feature=youtu.be . It is cleared away by security very quickly, but Moz DEFINITELY saw it. Would he have picked it up? We'll never know.

Day 336 - Wednesday August 15th 2012

I had no intention of blogging today, as I was due to watch cricket at the beautiful Hursley Park, but as usual it has tipped down with rain, and the match has been called off. I have just arrived home, and despite the cricket being off, I STILL had no intention of writing anything, but I have just read the comments left on my blog entry of yesterday, and one of the comments is from Morrissey himself, inviting me to interview him. Now there is no way I would miss an opportunity like that, so here I am, back again, questions at the ready.

Morrissey also invited others to ask questions, but it would appear that not many people have been back to read the comments section of my blog, so there are only three other questions, which I will inject into the interview. Also in the comments section of yesterday, Heather Cat posted some of the 'highlights' from Morrissey's chatroom chats of August 10th and 12th. I still have some notes from the MorrisseysWorld chatroom chat of August 9th, so at some stage over the next few days, I will put all these notes together and post some sort of blog entry.

So, here goes, my SECOND exclusive 'Following The Mozziah' interview with Morrissey. Hopefully he will reply in the comments section, as he did on Thursday May 17th, and I will repost the interview in full as a new blog entry, and then return to twitter to post it to the fans.

TRB: The last time we had one of our intimate little chats like this, you chose to answer my question about the NME court case via True To You, which then subsequently disappeared. Did you get into trouble with your lawyers for posting it there?

TRB: You have so far remained tight lipped on the whole NME affair. Why did you decide NOT to proceed with the case, and were you happy with the outcome?

TRB: One thing you haven't been so tight lipped about is the Olympic games, saying you were unable to watch "due to the blistering jingoism". How did you feel seeing your friend Russell Brand perform (and yes I think that is the correct word in the circumstances) at the closing ceremony?

TRB: Speaking of the Olympics, can you clear up the mystery surrounding the use of 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out' in the opening ceremony? It was clearly listed in the programme.

TRB: Now let's get on to three subjects that most of your fans are really interested in; records, book and tour. Firstly, you have recently hinted that you may be releasing your next album back on the Attack record label, is there any news yet?

TRB: Secondly, your autobiography was earmarked for an end of 2012 release, and then you mentioned 2013, and NOW you are talking about 2015. What are your current thoughts with the book, and what do your publishers advise?

TRB: Thirdly, you are going to be embarking on a thirty five date US tour in October, are we likely to see you touring the UK next year?

TRB: In the past year, you have accepted a red and a white rose on stage, but thus far you have NOT accepted a BLUE ROSE. Are you waiting for somebody to actually make it on to the stage with the rose between their teeth?

TRB: The whole idea of your 'Blue Rose Society' in honour of Oscar Wilde's 'Green Carnation' is a brilliant idea. Oscar is said to have worn a green carnation at his performances, so will we eventually see you regularly wearing a blue rose at your shows?

TRB: As I mentioned Oscar Wilde, this is probably a good time to bring in a question from 'fancy123', who asks: "I know you like Oscar Wilde, are there any modern authors you enjoy to read? What type of genre do you read or does it change depending on your mood? Are you currently reading anything?"

TRB: Going back to the subject of shows, it would appear that you have personally hand picked a vast number of iconic venues throughout the world to sing in. In London alone you have played The Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Arena, The Palladium, Earls Court, Alexandra Palace, The Festival Theatre etc etc. Firstly, are there any venues/festivals that are still on your 'to play' list, and if so, what ones, and secondly, can you name the ten venues/festivals throughout the world that have given you the greatest pleasure to sing in? (Don't stop at ten if you fancy listing the whole lot)

TRB: Do you pinch yourself when you think of all these fantastic places you've played in, or were they lucky to have you?

TRB: 'Lizzycatmoz' asks: "What is your proudest achievement, personally or professionally?"

TRB: I was going to ask a question about The Smiths, but I have lost all interest in a re-union, and in fact I personally hope it never happens, so instead, let's talk about your relationship with the beautiful Boz Boorer/Gaynor Tension. I have read in an interview today, that Boz says, "Life with Morrissey is at times very hectic and crazy. You live intensely with each other, almost as a married couple." Do you see your relationship as a marriage, or is Boz just fantasising?

TRB: 'SmallBoyJokesAndLoadedGuns' asks: "Dear Moz, I'd like to know how old you really are in your head? Multiple answers accepted, of course."

TRB: Finally, may I thank you in advance for answering the questions, I hope they find you in one of your open and candid moods. Please feel free to throw in an exclusive, and were you serious about playing a game of cricket, and if so, are you free Sunday?

Following The Mozziah Day 335 Tuesday August 14th 2012

PLEASE NOTE - READING THIS BLOG ENTRY IS A WASTE OF YOUR TIME, IT SAYS NOTHING OF INTEREST - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED SO NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED IF YOU CONTINUE TO READ.

I am managing to wean myself off the internet. Since arriving home from cricket tour on Friday evening, I have resisted all temptation to log on to twitter, so there is a whole world carrying on that I am now no longer a part of. It has been made easier knowing that 'Our Mozzer' is no longer there ( I presume he is no longer there) and I have also been aided by the fact that I have hardly been at home in the past few days. Saturday, Sunday and Monday was wall to wall (or field to field) cricket, with many more games due this week, as long as the rain holds off.

Although I have managed to resist logging on to Twitter, I have had a quick peak at the  MorrisseysWorld blog, but it has all but closed down. The home page is still there, but ALL the other pages/articles/parody stories have gone. We were promised one more parody story before shut down, but I either missed it, or The Mozziah changed his mind......he does seem to do that quite a lot!

I have decided that I will write my blog as and when I get an urge, or if 'Our Mozzer' reappears, but for now, it feels like a summer holiday. The only Morrissey related thing to catch my attention is the emergence on Youtube of the 'Studio In Session' series that Morrissey recorded in Dublin last summer,  with Tony Visconti producing. It is superb, and features; 'The Kid's A Looker', 'Scandinavia', 'Action Is My Middle Name' and 'People Are The Same Everywhere'. When, oh when are we to get a new album with these new (getting older) tracks? Could it be that a record deal HAS been signed, and Morrissey is waiting to tie in the release with his autobiography launch, or is there REALLY still no deal?

The Olympics closing ceremony DIDN'T include 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out', but DID include Take That and the Spice Girls....enough said.

I usually post my blog on twitter, but as I am no longer tweeting, I will just leave it here for people to find, although as there is no Mozziah to follow, it really isn't worth reading. Unfortunately, if you've reached this point, you have already read it. I shall now add a sentence at the top of the page, advising that this blog entry isn't worth reading, but usually when people read things like that, it compels them EVEN more to read on. All I can say is, I wasn't kidding! If anybody IS reading this, please feel free to post comments, and PLEASE let me know if I am missing anything.

And finally Esther, and finally Cyril, regular readers of my blog will remember that I attended the concert in Manchester with my friends 'Big Mick' and 'Midlife Matt', both of whom knew NOTHING of either MorrisseysWorld or my blog. Well, last night I received an email from 'Midlife Matt' telling me that whilst searching for reviews of the Manchester concert, he FOUND my blog. No doubt he is working his way back through it, but I'll save him the time, YES Matt, it REALLY IS Morrissey! 'Big Mick' remains none the wiser.

Day 330 - Thursday August 9th 2012

'Our Mozzer' has posted his final blog entry, and it is a beautiful piece of writing. He has also made his final appearance in The Twitterdilly Arms, tweeting his thanks and then his final farewell to the BLUE ROSE SOCIETY. Morrissey1959 then appeared in the MorrisseysWorld chatroom to have a final chat with the old gang.

The Mozziah's final curtain will mark my exit too. If he is no longer among us, I have NO Mozziah to follow, and therefore no blog to write. 'Our Mozzer' has promised one more parody piece before disappearing, so I will report on that, and no doubt I will reappear from time to time with Moz related observations, and who knows, perhaps one day he'll return.

It would appear that Morrissey decided against MorrisseysWorld replacing Solow, he probably just couldn't be bothered. His final blog article tends to suggest that he is probably annoyed at himself for having ever started his blog and twitter account. The article is a conclusion to the piece from yesterday, and in it, Morrissey goes on to explain that "technology is the plughole through which our humanity pours like used bathwater." His final words are "Cast aside technology and embrace solitude; embrace yourself." If I can't 'Follow the Mozziah', then I will at least attempt to follow his lead.

MorrisseysWorld has been a phenomenon, and one of Our Mozzers final tweets was to say, "when you read details of the autobiography, you WILL laugh." It MUST be called 'Morrissey's World', it just HAS to be.

R.I.P MorrisseysWorld.....nearly, and VIVA BLUE ROSE SOCIETY - It's only just begun.

DAY 329 - WEDS AUGUST 8TH 2012

Yesterday I wrote about Adam Sherwin's dreadful newspaper article about Morrissey and the Olympics. In the article, there was a quote from Labour MP for Bristol East, Kerry McCarthy. She said, "I think Morrissey, who doesn't even live in the UK these days, is completely out of touch with the public mood. Yes, people have been critical of the commercialism, the control exerted by sponsors and some of the organisational problems, but from Danny Boyle's opening ceremony to Mo Farah's 10,000m win the country has been displaying not jingoism but national pride - and I think it's justified."

What McCarthy is too blind to see, is that Team GB's success at the Olympics virtually GUARANTEES David Cameron, and his Tory party, success at the next General Election. McCarthy and her Labour cronies should be doing everything they can to distance themselves from the Olympics, and should be criticising EVERYTHING, from the BBC's biased coverage to the Royal/Tory hi-jack. Even Labour stalwart Billy Bragg has completely missed Morrissey's point, as he tweeted yesterday suggesting Morrissey was hypocritical because he waved the Union flag in the 90's. Oh Billy!

McCarthy's comments were attacked on twitter, with '@NomisReeb' asking, "And what exactly do you know about Morrissey?" McCarthy replied, "Well, I'm mates with Gary Day for a start. Saw the Smiths in their day." So, McCarthy KNOWS all about Morrissey and where he lives, because she is mates with a bass guitarist who Moz probably hasn't spoken to in years, and because she saw The Smiths! WE, the British public elected the likes of Kerry McCarthy, it is all our own fault, or at least the fault of the 16,471 idiots of Bristol East who voted for her. Mind you, the only other serious opposition to McCarthy in the 2010 election was Adeela Shafi, a Tory candidate who came to the election £330,000 in debt, and with her home repossessed. There was no hope for the people of Bristol East, and I would probably have given McCarthy my vote, on the basis of her having seen The Smiths!

MP Kerry McCarthy victim of Twitter attack
KERRY McCARTHY - KNOWS WHERE MORRISSEY LIVES

ADEELA SHAFI - THE BALIFF KNEW WHERE SHE LIVED.

Cameron has already been savvy enough to use the Team GB success at the Olympics to his advantage, and he has shot a warning across the Lib-Dems bow, by kicking out their motion for a reform of the House of Lords. A reform of the Lords was one of Cameron's major promises to Nicholas Clegg when the two parties formed a coalition. Cameron has now left Clegg looking weak and stupid, sorry, weaker and stupider. Surely it is only a matter of time before Cameron announces that the Tories can no longer work with the inept Lib-Dems, and calls a General Election, with the Olympic success as the centre point to the Tory campaign.

NICHOLAS CLEGG - SOON TO BE LOOKING FOR SOMEWHERE NEW TO LIVE?

It's not all plain sailing for Cameron though, because Corby MP Louise Mensch (who incidentally '@MorrisseysWorld' is always attacking on twitter), has announced that she is stepping down, to concentrate on being with her family. Mensche, just like McCarthy and Shafi, is one of a vile new breed of politician, who seem to be in politics just for the ego boost of winning votes, and NOTHING else. Mensche is a 'chick lit' author, who has been an MP for just two years. She obviously had NO intention of serving a full term in office, and just enjoyed the 'look at me, I'm famous' platform that being an MP gave her. It is a great waste of tax payers money to have a by-election, but of course Ms Mensche won't give a stuff about that.

The by-election is due to be held in November, and as it is a marginal seat, it will act as a useful gauge for Cameron, to see if the public mood is lifted by the Olympic jingoism. If the Tories win, a General Election will be iminent, but having said that, the British public usually use by-elections to send out a message to the existing Government that they aren't happy, and surely the residents of Corby CAN'T be happy, no matter HOW many gold medals Zara Phillips wins?

LOIUSE MENSCH RECLINES ON A BED - IN A BLUE ROSE DRESS! GO, GO,  GO, WE DON'T NEED YOU, JUST GO - MOVING TO NEW YORK.

5 July 2012: Louise Mensch appears on BBC Question Time with John Lydon. She admitted she had taken Class A drugs when she was younger.

ROTTEN & TWITTER QUEEN MENSCH ON QUESTION TIME

As promised, 'Our Mozzer' has posted the first part of his new article, entitled 'An Essay on Loneliness in the 20th Century.' It is a thought provoking piece, in which 'Our Mozzer' points out that "television is what we do, our actual lives are relegated to a sideshow." How VERY true, and how VERY sad, but virtually ALL of us have allowed this to happen. The easiest option is to not think too much about it, in the same way that the easiest way to make up for the disappointment of having NO decent politicians to vote for, is to quietly NOT vote, or vote for a Smiths fan. Life is a Pigsty, and if you don't know this, then what do you know?

So as Louise Mensch's parliamentary light goes out, could there be ANY possibility that the reason 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out' was pulled from the opening ceremony of the Olympics, is because it is going to be used at the CLOSING ceremony instead? Surely not, not after all Moz's criticism, but you wouldn't bet against it. Oh the irony.

Day 328 - Tuesday August 7th 2012

The opening ceremony to the London 2012 Olympic Games featured a whole celebration of British music from all the decades. As I watched on television, I was CONVINCED that 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out' was going to be used as the flame was lit, especially as the day before the opening ceremony, '@MorrisseysMum' had tweeted, "My boy is flaming delighted the cat is still in the bag about tomorrow."

It was the use of the word 'flaming' that had convinced me, and also it had been rumoured for the past year that Danny Boyle, who organised the whole ceremony, would be including The Smiths, but it didn't materialise. I couldn't believe that Boyle didn't include Morrissey somewhere, especially as nobodies like Ed Sheeran were used, and what is more, the whole thing was just crying out for 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out'.

THE MEDIA GUIDE TO THE OPENING CEREMONY - NOTE PAGE 36

It has now come to light (no pun intended), that in the 'Opening Ceremony Programme' that was released to the media, the opening ceremony had A COMPLETE SECTION called 'There is a Light That Never Goes Out', so it looks like the song WAS intended to be used after all, but somebody, somewhere MUST have pulled the plug on the use of the song. It seems unlikely it was Morrissey who pulled the plug, or indeed Boyle, so it must therefore have been 'somebody in authority', and it must have been a fairly late change. Was this decision taken because of Morrissey's criticism of the royal family, or perhaps because the song comes from the album 'The Queen Is Dead'?

THE NUMBER 2 ALBUM - THE QUEEN IS DEAD

Is it just coincidence that following 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out' being left out of the ceremony, Morrissey issued his statement on True-To-You, saying he was "unable to watch the Olympics due to the blustering jingoism." Is it also a coincidence that Morrissey's statement included the cry of those against the New World Order,  "WAKE UP WAKE UP"? Is it also a coincidence that Morrissey's statement signed off by saying, "undiminished, with a heart that longs for LIGHT"? Is it also a coincidence that both the Sex Pistols single 'God Save The Queen', and The Smiths album 'The Queen Is Dead' both stalled at Number 2 in the respective UK charts despite selling bucket loads, and both being acknowledged as major influences in modern popular music?

THE NUMBER 2 SINGLE - GOD SAVE THE QUEEN

So, who DID pull the plug on 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out', and was Morrissey told it was happening? Boyle has not commented.

THERE IS A LIGHT THAT NEVER GOES OUT

Meanwhile, the British press have once again managed to twist Morrissey's words, with Adam Sherwin (@adamsherwin10) of the Independent newspaper claiming that Morrissey's True-To-You statement compared the atmosphere of the Olympics to that of Nazi Germany. This is journalism at it's weakest, because Morrissey ACTUALLY compared "Media-brand Britain" to "the spirit of 1939 Germany", and NOT the atmosphere of the Olympic games to the Nazis.

ADAM 'HAMSTER CHEEKS' SHERWIN - AGED 10 - YET ANOTHER USELESS JOURNALIST

MorrisseysWorld.blogspot.com has published 'The Best of MorrisseysWorld', with all the classics included. 'Our Mozzer' has also promised that tomorrow he will publish 'An Essay on Loneliness in the 20th Century'. There is a light and it never goes out.

BLUE ROSE CURTAINS

The curtains in my hotel room are covered in BLUE ROSES. The carpet is red. The television is Sharp.

Goodnight.

Day 327 - Monday August 6th 2012

The Youtube footage from Istanbul has not been particularly helpful in finding MorrisseysWorld's 'missed clue', but luckily I have been helped out by somebody who was there. Twitter user Nila T (@nila_29) posted the following comment on my blog entry of yesterday:

Nila Tony6 August 2012 12:50

I was at the Istanbul gig and yes the audience's reaction was incredible,I thought the whole thing was quite intense and emotional at least for someone like me who has been a Morrissey fan for 27 years.... @morrisseysworld tweeted 'Istanbul' 10 days after the concert when I asked when/if he would come to Istanbul again. The only thing that I thought was significant was that the night before the concert ,Wednesday 18th-19th July he tweeted "I feel quite alone this evening" and there was another tweet about "being alone"-I assume that he was in his hotel in Istanbul at that point- then during the concert on Thursday evening he said something like "last night when I was (or felt) all alone in my cold hotel room". Now,I may just be paranoid and this may well be a coincidence, but my intuition tells me it wasn't.

MOZ RECEIVES THE KEY TO TEL AVIV FROM MAYOR BRACEWELL

I think Nila has got it spot on, but we only have her word for it of course!

I had to chuckle to myself as I once again looked at the above photo of Moz getting the key to the city of Tel Aviv. That BLUE ROSE tie is so out of place, it is hilarious.

MorrisseysWorld has again gone quiet but I am pleased to announce that Rosy Mires (@RosyMires - pronounced Mirez) is back in the fold. She won't commit 100%, but as all the coincidences and signs keep coming, she has had to admit that Moz MUST be involved in some way. Stuart Kirk (@southkirk) has also jumped onboard, but the great flower loser MancLad (@mancladmozfan) has decided to slip away from twitter, and has asked admin guy on the MW blog to delete all his emails. God only knows what he's been emailing.

Manclad will be back, as I've said before, you can check out any time you want, but you can never leave. We all get a little weary from time to time, but NONE of us can leave it alone. There is definitely a lull and lack of enthusiasm among the BLUE ROSE SOCIETY, but that is inevitable as the tour is now over. I also think that many people hoped that all would be revealed at Manchester, but that would have been FAR too obvious, and VERY un-Mozean. It is almost as though we have all entered a summer recess, and I too will blog less often over the next month or so.

In all the recent excitement of the new parody article and TTY statement, I haven't mentioned the news that Moz has a new drummer. Moz has a new drummer. I'm afraid it doesn't get anymore exciting than that for me where musicians are concerned. God knows when they found him though.

Talking of the new parody article, I have today been re-reading it, and one particular exchange between Morrissey and Mikey Bracewell has had me in stitches. The two of them are discussing what to do with the blog, when Bracewell says:
"How about wearing a blue rose tonight, Morr-ee-say, and then simply deleting the blog and twitter so the entire world regrets forever its decision not to get on board with MorrisseysWorld?"

Morrissey replies:
"That's too predictable - almost expected. No, we need something more oblique."

NOVELIST - MICHAEL 'RON HULDAI' BRACEWELL

Bracewell then suggests doing nothing, to which Morrissey replies:

"That would be too enigmatic, Mikey. You see, in order to generate 'enigmatic otherness' factor, at least in this industry, one sometimes has to do the run-of-the-mill." He goes on to say: "one is expected to do the unexpected and therefore doing the mundane can be all the more 'mesmeric', as long as it's not 'too' obvious, like your previous suggestion."

Not only is this incredibly clever writing, but I imagine it is EXACTLY how Morrissey's mind works when it comes to MorrisseysWorld. I am sure that when he started the blog, he had NO IDEA where it would go, and now it is almost a challenge to himself to keep the mystique going for as long as possible. He CONTINUES to give clues and signs, but at the same time is trying to second guess what will happen with each move. I wouldn't be surprised if Morrissey considered singing 'Trouble Loves Me' at Manchester, but it almost became too expected, just like wearing the blue rose in Edinburgh.

I am convinced that the blue rose, and indeed 'Trouble Loves Me' WILL appear sometime, but when least expected, although to counteract that, our ever contrary Moz may of course decide to throw them in when they ARE expected! I now have no idea as to what IS or ISN'T expected, in which case, he can't go wrong!

Michael Bracewell The Space Between

'The Space Between' by Michael Bracewell is a new book published by Ridinghouse.co.uk. Bracewell is fifty four tomorrow, Happy Birthday Mikey.

Day 326 - 'Our Mozzer' Returns

HE'S BACK! Or rather, they're both back! Firstly Morrissey returns, with a statement on True-To-You, and then 'Our Mozzer' returns with a new blog entry, AND an update to the prophecy page. Here is the TTY statement:

Statement: 3 August 2012

4 August 2012
Statement:
3 August 2012
The rich experience of our recent tour of Italy, Turkey, Israel and Greece has thankfully matched the terrific responses we had received in Asia and South America earlier this year - a year that, to my amazement, has become the most successful of my touring life. How, exactly? And why?
Once again, all I can offer is the sore throat of thanks to everyone who bought tickets and who supported us along the way.
The incredible audience reactions in Istanbul, Athens and Tel-Aviv have left me insensible, and were completely at odds with the common belief that the world of music is now dumb and sterile.
Nights of wine and roses:
1/ISTANBUL, Turkey (Cemil Topuzlu, 19 July)
2/ATHENS, Greece (Lycabettus Theater, 16 July)
3/TEL-AVIV, Israel (Bitan 1, 21 July)
4/EDINBURGH, Scotland (Usher Hall, 30 July)
5/MILAN, Italy (Teatro Degli Arcimboldi, 10 July)
6/ROME, Italy (Auditorium Parco Della Musica, 7 July)
7/MANCHESTER, England (Manchester Arena, 28 July)
8/GRADO, Italy (Diga Nazario Sauro, 13 July)
9/GENOA, Italy (Arena Del Mare, 8 July)
10/FLORENCE, Italy (Cavea Del Nuovo Teatro Dell'Opera, 11 July)
Our army marches into Boston soon, and here we begin a lengthy American tour. We are overjoyed at news of sell-outs at Radio City (New York), Chicago, San Francisco, Atlantic City, Niagara Falls, Asheville, North Bethesda, and we are close to sold out at Terminal 5 (New York), Lincoln NE, Beaumont TX. To continue to do so well, and to continue to mean something to so many people, brings a gratitude that I will never tire of repeating.
Thank you to the city of Tel-Aviv for granting me the Keys to their city. I just might die with a smile on my face, after all.
Thank you to drummer Eric Louis Gardner for guiding us through our recent tour. I am pleased to announce that our new drummer is Anthony Burulcich.
And, yet! I am unable to watch the Olympics due to the blustering jingoism that drenches the event. Has England ever been quite so foul with patriotism? The "dazzling royals" have, quite naturally, hi-jacked the Olympics for their own empirical needs, and no oppositional voice is allowed in the free press. It is lethal to witness. As London is suddenly promoted as a super-wealth brand, the England outside London shivers beneath cutbacks, tight circumstances and economic disasters. Meanwhile the British media present 24-hour coverage of the "dazzling royals", laughing as they lavishly spend, as if such coverage is certain to make British society feel fully whole. In 2012, the British public is evidently assumed to be undersized pigmies, scarcely able to formulate thought.
As I recently drove through Greece I noticed repeated graffiti seemingly everywhere on every available wall. In large blue letters it said WAKE UP WAKE UP. It could almost have been written with the British public in mind, because although the spirit of 1939 Germany now pervades throughout media-brand Britain, the 2013 grotesque inevitability of Lord and Lady Beckham (with Sir Jamie Horrible close at heel) is, believe me, a fate worse than life. WAKE UP WAKE UP.
Please remember PETA's 32nd birthday on 21 August: destiny for some is to save lives.
undiminished,
with a heart that longs for light,
MORRISSEY, 3 August 2012.

The most obvious thing that sticks out in this statement, is the mention of "Nights of wine and roses", but ALSO, as HeatherCat has already pointed out to me on twotter, the use of the words, "WAKE UP, WAKE UP", is also very relevant, as this is the rally call of the conspiracy theorists who fight the New World Order. It could also be interpreted as the rally cry from us MorrisseysWorlders, as the vast majority of Morrissey's fans STILL fail to see Morrissey IS MorrisseysWorld.

The new MW article is entitled, 'Our Mozzer announces the end of MorrisseysWorld blog and twitter - Part 1". It is, as ever, a VERY funny parody, which sees Moz back stage in Edinburgh, contemplating how to get rid of the blog. The article even gives yours truly a mention, when Morrissey says, "Even that fawning Rat - who incidentally has posted nowhere near the pledged three hundred comments on the frinking thread - has forty registered followers for his much less fascinating and considerably more pedestrian blog thing." I am of course honoured to get a mention, but should point out that I DIDN'T actually pledge 300 comments, and I DON'T believe a timescale was put on it, so I shall continue at my own pace!

Anyway, back to the new parody piece. One of the funniest lines is given to Mikey Bracewell, who labels Morrissey as the "anti-populist poet/poetess of the people" and likens his failure on twitter, "as the modern equivalent of The Velvet Underground." F***ing genius. "Our Mozzer', like any good script writer, is VERY good at sharing around the decent dialogue, and Boz Boorer is given more than his fair share of good lines. It would be very easy for Mozzer to keep all the best lines for himself, but it goes to show how generous and giving he is....although it should be noted that YET AGAIN, the REAL Moz failed to thank Boz or the band in his TTY statement, but then again, do the band ever thank Morrissey for allowing them to play in his band? I digress.

One of Boz's best lines in the new sketch is: "Well I've been giving thought to this very matter, sir. I've been thinking how you can bring an end to MorrisseysWorld without anyone figuring out who you are, so they don't find out you've been wasting the past few years since Refusal running a failed blog and twitter account, Moz, instead of writing some decent tunes."

As self parody goes, Morrissey is writing lines that NO OTHER artist would EVER write about themselves. We live in a world where all the 'lock-jaw popstars'/politicians/non-celebrity celebrities  think that EVERYTHING they do or say is relevant, when in fact it ISN'T, and yet Morrissey not only has the ability to see this, but he STILL takes the piss out of himself, whilst at the same time being more meaningful and relevant than all of them put together.

The new parody piece also draws reference to the latest TTY statement, with Morrissey saying, "I'll make a few more references to the blog thing with occasional true to you statements mentioning roses, the colour blue etc. And of course one SHALL appear with a blue rose before 2012 is out, or early 2013 at the latest." The TTY statement does INDEED mention the colour blue, saying 'WAKE UP, WAKE UP' is written in large blue letters. Was there really any need for the statement to mention the colour of the letters? Hmm.

The parody sketch ends with Morrissey pointing out that 'cosh' is a piece of wood, and therefore, the band appearing in 'COSH' t-shirts in Edinburgh constitutes one of the 'Imperfect List' being fulfilled! This is great news, there is now no need for MorrisseysWorld to close!

Within the parody article, is a picture of a woman ironing, which MW has labelled 'Gaynor Tension aka Boz Boorer prepares quietly for a concert appearance with seminal artiste Morrissey.' In the comments section under the piece, 'girlwithout' has posted that the picture is entitled 'Woman Ironing', and it is by........DAVID McCOSH...McCOSH!!! A scottish lump of wood for Edinburgh? You couldn't make this up!

PICTURE USED ON THE MORRISSEYSWORLD BLOG, OF BOZ IRONING - BY McCOSH - GENIUS

As I mentioned in my first paragraph, 'Our Mozzer' has also updated the prophecy page on the MW blog, mainly updating all the coincidences, but ALSO, he wrote, "Notice Istanbul as his favourite concert, just a few days after MorrisseysWorld mysteriously tweeted, stating 'Istanbul' twice for no apparent reason! Is MorrisseysWorld pointing fans to the Istanbul concert? Has something significant been missed? Or was it merely another coincidence?"

As I write this blog (it's now 8.50pm Sunday evening), I am in a hotel room in Taunton, Somerset, as I am on a cricket tour for five days. Any normal male would be out and about in the town, where as I have just ordered room service, and am about to spend the evening working my way through Morrissey's concert in Istan 'bloody' bul, I must be mad!
