Day 380 - Mesmerise or Mesmerize? That Is The Question

Today I was going to write a 'Moz & Boz in NYC' parody piece, in which Boz, dressed in drag, collapses in a book store, but that has now been scrapped, as it is my duty (as a dedicated follower of The Mozziah) to report that the MorrisseysWorld twitter thing is BACK! *waves palm leaves and throws roses into the path of The Mozziah as he walks past.....but unfortunately, in my excitement, I have forgotten to de-thorn the roses and they land on The Mozziah's head*

FORGET THERATSBACK, THE MOZZIAH'S BACK

I have to confess, I was VERY surprised when I turned on my laptop this morning, and entered The Twitterdilly Arms (through the back of the wardrobe) to find that 'Our Mozzer' had been tweeting. I really thought that we may have seen the last of him, but thankfully, he is as addicted as the rest of us, and just can't keep away....."the syringe is dirty."

Our Mozzer's tweeting session started around 6pm New York time, 11pm UK time. I missed it as I was tucked up in bed, but here is his first tweet:

"http://www.news.com.au/news/morrissey-the-extended-interview/story-fnejnl1p-1226481783583 - Mesmerizing with a 'z' and everyday instead of every day from the blog. But all just coincidence."

The first bit of this tweet is a link to the Australian interview that I mentioned yesterday. Our Mozzer draws attention to the fact that he used the words 'mesmerizing' and 'everyday' in the interview, and not 'mesmerising' and 'every day'. His suggestion is that this was done on purpose, as a reference to something in the MW blog. The problem is, the blog is still dead, so although Moz knows what he's referring to, I DON'T! Even Heather Cat (who usually remembers everything) can't think what Our Mozzer is referring to. I can vaguely remember reading 'something' about the misuse of 'everyday', but I can't for the life of me remember what it was, and I certainly can't think what the use of the 'z' in mesmerizing is a reference to. Can anybody help? I feel like we are letting Our Mozzer down by not picking up on his signs, but we CAN'T remember EVERYTHING, we just can't!

*STOP PRESS - UPDATE*
Thanks to Heather Cat (it had to be), I think I have found the reference about 'mesmerize'. Heather pointed me to the one place where many of the MorrisseysWorld quotes can STILL be read....SOLOW! On one of the Solow links (See here: http://www.morrissey-solo.com/content/336-Ten-US-dates-in-November-to-be-announced-Monday-William-Morris-Agency-representation-true-to-you-net?page=4#comments), there is the following section taken from an original MorrisseysWorld entry from August 2011 entitled, 'I Will Never Again Post On This Blog.' Here is what it says:

"The so-lowers are indeed right c*nts, as I observe on my quasi-anonymous blog. My laughter echoes with every pontification over its authorship. So many questions would elucidate the authorship of the blog - if only they had the wit to pose the right questions. That they do not see the game is intentional. They do not realise the inelegant use of mesmerise rather than the Oxford mesmerize is quite intentional, that the absurdly bloated narcissism is ironically-intended, that my denial I was the author of the blog when nobody had even heard of it was a clue! - IN DUE COURSE THE AUTHORSHIP WILL BE PROVEN - and what of the so-lowers, then?"

I do not remember ever reading this particular article, but then again, I don't remember much!

NEW YORK BUSTLES AT 6PM, WHILE OUR MOZZER TWEETS

Anyway, back to the highlights of yesterday's MW tweets:

"Tulisa is what happens when a woman of limited talent utilises every last ounce of it to imitate a complete oaf." I take it he isn't a fan.

"Twitter, like life, is utterly without purpose. And so we finally live."

"I returned ONLY because Morrissey spelled mesmerize with a 'z'." What 'is' the relevance? For the love of all non existent Gods, will somebody PLEASE put me out of my misery!

"The Internet Jukebox is the Twitterdilly Arms but good sons like you wouldn't know about that."

"I'm the utterly Butterly of the Twitterworld. I'm tasty, spreadable and you'll regret eating me - but not quite as much." (Camera cuts to Rosy Mires house, where we find Ms Mires hunched over her laptop dunking late night toast into a mug of tea and saying to herself, "The real Morrissey would NEVER say that!")

GirlWithout: "How are you liking your new superhero status? You have elderly women swooning at your feet."
MW: My feet are absolutely my best feature." (Camera cuts to Rosy Mires house where she splutters on her greased tea and says to herself, "now THAT was VERY Moz like.")

ROSY MIRES (WIG FREE) SPLUTTERS ON HER TEA

MW tweets continued:

"Talentless, obnoxious, undignified, tired - Danny Baker, before he came a nobody." It is refreshing to see that the previous 'Bakergate' scandal hasn't stop Our Mozzer speaking his mind. Never one to avoid an issue, if it needs saying, Our Mozzer says it!

"In 2013, a large number of people are going to wish they'd been here."

@LaFernVerte: "Do you disagree with any of Morrissey's views?"
MW: "Too many to remember and too few to care."

"I don't hate Sir Elton. If he'd stop pushing his face in our window, buy some trousers that actually fit and stop singing, I'd be a huge fan."

ELTON JOHN RELAXES IN ROD STEWART'S BLOUSE

MW stopped tweeting at about 7pm NY time, but then briefly reappeared at about 3am with the following:

"I am 50% sincerity, 50% insincerity and 50% mistaken."

"Don't worry. The real Morrissey will be joining you soon." Could this mean we are about to see a REAL Morrissey twitter account appear? After all, "twitter seems useful." And then, I presume, Our Mozzer went to sleep!

Yesterday I wrote about the 'Original twenty two', of which Romina Ricci (@caterita22) is one. Romina left the following comment after my blog entry:

Hello Rat! Ther's no mistery about me, just still I got no definitive opinion about MW, but, of course I like it! I supposed, since for the first time, that Morrissey could be involved and maybe planned it as a marketing strategy because he was and still is touring without a record deal, but, obviously, I could be wrong! Anyway I listened on you tube to Lonley Day, I did'nt know that song and it's very beutiful, and Born that Way, by J. Maker, wonderful voice and lovely song, on the comments section someone named J. Maker as the hidden Morrissey, so I guess: Could be J. Maker the author or co-author of the blog and maybe is he managing the twitter account? J. Maker is a very brilliant person, also a writer and time ago I used to read his blog...Oh Rat, this is a mistery without solution! Cheers!

Romina's use of broken English has always made me smile, and also more than raised my suspicions about her claim to being just an Italian housewife. I was going to add Romina's old twitter picture to my blog today, so I googled it, and guess what, it transpires that Romina Ricci is a famous Argentinian actress and model. Hmm.

ROMINA RICCI - FROM PLAYBOY MANSION TO MORRISSEYSWORLD

Anyway, forgetting Romina's modeling career, the reason I have printed her comment, is because of her reference to James Maker. I have to confess, I know nothing whatsoever about Maker, I have never listened to his music, not read his book, and know nothing at all about his friendship with Morrissey. Many people who have watched me write this blog obsessively for the past year, would be forgiven for thinking that I am a Morrissey fanatic, but I'm not, at least, I WASN'T until I discovered MorrisseysWorld!

I have to admit that this past twelve months has made me fairly obsessive, but before my discovery of MW, I was pretty much just a casual Moz fan, who just bought the records, and went to a couple of his concerts a year. I was never a visitor to Solow (except to read concert reviews), wasn't a member of the MozArmy on twitter, and didn't really follow Morrissey in the press. It is only the discovery of MorrisseysWorld last September that turned me into the Morrissey stalker that I have now become.

So, back to James Maker, could he POSSIBLY be involved in MorrisseysWorld, like our Argentinian actress suggests? I have had a quick read through the blog of his that Romina mentions (jamesmaker.blogspot.co.uk), and Maker DOES seem to make a lot of use of the semi colon, just like the MW author, but that is where the similarities in writing style ends, and what is more, Maker has been writing a novella called 'Axed Pat', and there is NO WAY he could write a book AND write the daily shenanigans of MorrisseysWorld at the same time. I decree that James Maker IS NOT the author of MorrisseysWorld, but I remain VERY open minded about Maker being....Romina Ricci!

JAMES MAKER (LEFT) - NOT DISSIMILAR IN LOOKS TO THE PIC OF ROMINA ON THE  PLAYBOY COVER (IF YOU ADD A WIG!) ALSO, NOT 'THAT' DISSIMILAR TO THE ELTON JOHN WOMAN ABOVE! COME TO THINK OF IT, MAKER ALSO HAS SIMILARITIES TO THE 'ROSY MIRES DRINKING TEA IN BED' PICTURE!

It is also the little things that keep reminding me that Morrissey IS the sole author of MorrisseysWorld, little things like his Top 10 on True-To-You, just hours after the first Twitterdilly Arms Top 10 was published. If it was one of Morrissey's friends writing MW, Morrissey's own input wouldn't be so quick and decisive, and as I wrote yesterday, Moz is far too much of a control freak to let anybody else run 'his' parody site, they just WOULDN'T live up to his high expectations!

And finally Esther, and finally Cyril, Manc Lad (@MancLadMozFan) has stated that he is taking both a red rose and a blue rose to the Boston concert next Friday. He has said he will give the red rose to Kristeen Young, and will attempt to give the blue rose to Moz, but he says that he DOESN'T expect Moz to take it. Manc Lad has ALSO purchased a luminous blue rose, exactly the same as the ones that I (@TheRatsBack) threw onto the stage at the Manchester concert (see here at 1 min 48 secs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qS9KEb-HLpc) and EARS (@AIRRAID25) threw onto the stage at Edinburgh. We all wish Manc Lad the best of luck with his quest to deliver BLUE ROSE.

Day 379 - "I Know Nothing About Twitter" - Morrissey

Two weeks ago, I received a tweet out of the blue from a guy called Rob Pollard (@_robpollard). He tweeted: "@TheRatsBack - Still think it's the real Morrissey behind that account?" He followed it up with: "Anybody in BlueRoseSociety who genuinely thought the MW blog was Morrissey himself doesn't get him & should probably stop listening to him." Rob also tweeted: "BlueRoseSociety - the most laughable Twitter cult out there."

ROB POLLARD - "A LAUGHABLE CU*T"

I suggested that Rob read my blog entry from Friday August 10th, the 'History of Morrissey's Blue Rose Society', but instead, Rob chose to block me on Twitter. I think it is safe to say that Mr Pollard is ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that Morrissey was NOT the author of MorrisseysWorld, so let's presume for a minute that he is right, after all, I have to face the fact that there are FAR more who agree with Rob than agree with me, so let me try and get inside their heads. If MorrisseysWorld WASN'T Morrissey, I have three options:

A) Morrissey knew NOTHING about, or at least had NO INTEREST whatsoever in MorrisseysWorld and just ignored it completely

B) Morrissey quite liked the MW blog and Twitter account, and played along with it, or

C) Morrissey KNEW or even EMPLOYED the author of MW.

Rosy Mires, on her website 'MozWorldAintMoz.blogspot.com', suggests that the MorrisseysWorld author was either a naughty fan trying to get Moz's attention, or it was a PR stunt commissioned by Morrissey himself to counter the negative criticism in the press and on Morrissey-Solo.com.

OPTION A:
Most Morrissey fans, particularly the Solow lot, the MozArmy leader Julie Hammil, and our friend Rob Pollard, have chosen option A. They believe that Morrissey had NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with the MW blog or twitter account. This would be the most logical option, because the perception is that Morrissey doesn't like the modern world, so probably doesn't use the internet much, and CERTAINLY doesn't use social network sites (more about that later). What we DO KNOW however, is that Morrissey DOES use the internet a bit, because he has recently admitted to watching You Tube.

THROW YOUR TYPEWRITER ONTO THE FIRE & GET A PC

For me, option A just doesn't add up. We KNOW Morrissey is aware of MorrisseysWorld, because he went to the lengths of OFFICIALLY denying he was behind it FOUR TIMES. Those fans who have chosen to believe option A, probably made that decision when MW first appeared, because they just couldn't comprehend that Morrissey would possibly be involved in such a thing. Alternatively, they have chosen option A because they just HAVEN'T followed the story closely enough to see the signs, clues and many coincidences that have occurred. The main reason that I can't go with option A, is because of Morrissey making the 'OO' sign on the Conan tv show last November, just after the MW blog posted a collage of famous people doing the same thing. Morrissey MUST at least be playing along.

COLLAGE POSTED ON MORRISSEYSWORLD - NOVEMBER 7TH 2011

MORRISSEY ON CONAN - NOVEMBER 29TH 2011

OPTION B:
So, with Morrissey making that 'OO' sign on Conan, even the likes of Rosy Mires had to concede that it appeared as though Moz quite liked the MW blog, and was playing along with it, but WHY would Morrissey be making 'Freemason' signs to go along with a fan's blog? And would Morrissey REALLY go along with a blog AND twitter account of a stranger using HIS name, and making statements (not parody statements) as Morrissey? No chance. Option B is NOT an option.

ROSY MIRES - S'OO' CONFUSED BY IT ALL

OPTION C:
The final choice is that Morrissey KNEW or EMPLOYED the author of MorrisseysWorld. If this is true, the main candidate would be the journalist Kevin 'Banjaxer' Marrinan, who seems to have had some involvement or other from the very start. In fact a number of people on Solow claimed that Banjaxer (aka Walter Ego) was the author, and when Marrinan published a story about MorrisseysWorld two weeks ago, one of the comments left by 'JeNeSuisPasMorrissey' read, "Funny, cos it's common knowledge that you're behind that ridiculous website/Twitter account, Kevin."

When Morrissey wore his BLUE ROSE tie when accepting the 'Key to the City of Tel Aviv', this further backed up the argument for option C, and also seemed to act as his seal of approval for the BLUE ROSE SOCIETY, but my main reason for NOT believing that option C is correct, is for the same reason as option B. Would Morrissey let Marrinan or anybody else for that matter, make comments in the name 'Morrissey', EVEN as a parody? Morrissey is a known control freak, and would Morrissey trust Marrinan or anybody else to be funny enough to run such a highly amusing parody account? No. Option C just DOESN'T work.

Sorry Rob, sorry Rosy, sorry all the others who don't want it to be true, but NONE of the available three options stack up, MORRISSEYSWORLD HAD TO HAVE BEEN THE WORK OF MORRISSEY, THERE JUST ISN'T ANY OTHER LOGICAL EXPLANATION!

MORRISSEY REMAINS TIGHT LIPPED ON MW & AS TO WHY HE CHOSE 'THAT TIE'

So will the new tour bring new clues, and will Morrissey's fans FINALLY open their eyes? Time as ever, will tell.

Yesterday I mentioned that Morrissey had given an interview to News.com.au. Here are the highlights:

ON WHY HE PREFERS EMAIL INTERVIEWS: "I haven't done a face-to-face interview with a music publication in England since 2007 when I was interviewed by the NME. In print, they re-wrote my replies and re-wrote their own questions, which was very damaging to me and I had to pay legal fees of over 150,000 dollars in order to get the NME to apologise. That incident just about turned me off for life, as you can imagine."

ON A NEW RECORD DEAL: "The horizon remains bleak. But I accept it now. I exist only in the live arena, or on You Tube, and that's the full extent of it."

ON A NEW ALBUM: "I was recently approached by Sony, but the offer was so poor that I'd end up paying for everything with my own personal finances yet splitting the profit with the label. It doesn't make sense."

ON TWITTER: "I know nothing about Twitter."

ALSO ON TWITTER: "Twitter seems useful in some ways because you are no longer at the mercy of press interpretation."
(HOW would HE know? As he says, he knows NOTHING about Twitter. Hmm.)

ON THE SMITHS: "The agents for Coachella offered a 100-per-cent vegetarian event if I would agree to headline with Johnny Marr as the Smiths. Fascinatingly they made it clear that they would 'not require' the Smiths bass player or drummer...which I thought certainly said something."

ON RUSSELL BRAND: "I love Russell, but the films are a bit cheeky-wonky-daft-Dudley Moore British-pottiness for me, and Russell's voice has a higher pitch with each film - it's almost a squeal now."
(Hands up if you laughed out loud at this? *puts hand up*)

ON CURRENT MUSIC: "Lonely Day by System of a Down would be the last song I absolutely loved, and Born That Way by James Maker is the greatest single of the last decade."
(I have to say, I'd never heard either song. I have just listened to them, and quite like 'Lonely Day', but 'Born That Way' does nothing for me whatsoever.)

ON THE KILLERS: "The Killers asked me to sing with them this month in New York, but I'm not the type. I stick to my own backyard."

A YOUNG MOZ IN HIS OWN BACKYARD, TO WHICH HE STILL STICKS

I also mentioned in my blog of yesterday, that Rosy Mires (yes, her again), had tweeted to say that the mention of the number 22, in Morrissey's Pheonix interview, had reminded her of Day 70 (Nov 23rd 2011) of 'Following The Mozziah', when I wrote about the 22 MorrisseysWorld believers who had A ROSE in their twitter profile picture. So, WHO were the twenty two, and do they STILL believe? Here is the original list, with a comment about each:

1. @stillicling - Stopped believing in MW on Feb 13th, following the death of Whitney Houston.
2. @RosyMires - Also stopped believing on Feb 13th following the death of Houston.
3. @EcubyanSoapbox - Now @EcubyanPoet. No longer tweets about MW. Interest seemingly gone.
4. @GirlOnBike1102 - Stopped believing for a while but now 100% committed, although NO rose pic.
5. @Mancladmozfan - Has taken more roses to more concerts than anybody else....and LOST them all.
6. @Mmedestaelghost - No rose pic & not around much, but maintains a distant, open minded interest.
7. @Lizzycat4 - Now@Lizzycatmoz.Stopped following for a time but now believes again.NO rose pic.
8. @Hector_Lector - Stopped believing & following after Houston's death in Feb.
9. @Heathercat222 - Has remained a believer all the way through & has a blue rose in profile pic.
10. @TheRatsBack - I'm a believer and I couldn't leave her if I tried. Has an inflatable red rose photo.
11. @loughtonlil - Has remained true to MorrisseysWorld from day 1. The rose profile photo remains.
12. @AIRRAID25 - Took a blue rose to Genoa & Edinburgh. Has a blue rose tattoo. Devoted.
13. @amor_y_locura - Yet another who stopped believing after Houston's death.
14. @Alekaki_ - Not tweeted since Nov 30th 2011. Disappeared.
15. @cathyplus5 - Stopped believing a long time ago but not sure if Houston related.
16. @bucktoothedboy - Closed the account months ago.
17. @girlwithout - Still a firm believer. No rose in profile but has an orange ball by Colin Rose.
18. @its_Only_Me_K - Stopped believing last year.
19. @jo_beth_s - Account closed last year.
20. @CajunCauliflowr - Stopped believing last year.
21. @caterita2008 - Stated that she didn't believe Morrissey was MW but has roses in pic. A mystery.
22. @i2177 - Still has a rose pic but rarely tweets. Nothing else known.

Of the original twenty two dedicated followers, only eight remain fully committed, the others have either lost interest, or stopped believing altogether. Whitney Houston's death was a major blow to many of the originals, although I believe their loss of faith came from an MW tweet, not the actual demise of the drug riddled Houston. MW tweeted: "distressed to hear of Oprah Winfrey's passing." Many took this uncompassionate tweet as PROOF that Morrissey WASN'T behind MW, but why anybody should think Morrissey WOULD show compassion towards Houston is peculiar itself, particularly when he once said of her records, "I think they're vile in the extreme." Bizarre.

DEAD OR ALIVE?

It has been announced that Morrissey will be appearing next Wednesday on the Jimmy Fallon tv show in New York. I wonder what song he'll sing? I'm going to guess 'Scandinavia', although this week sees the 25th anniversary of the release of 'Strangeways Here We Come', so who knows, maybe we'll get 'Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me'. Roll on Wednesday.

Day 378 - Two Little Boys

I quite often find that my brain is at it's most active just before I wake up in the morning, and this morning it was especially active, with a brilliant re-working of an old song shooting into my head. The song has the potential to be a massive You Tube hit, it just needs somebody to bother recording it, so if anybody reading this has the inclination, then help yourself. If would work best if the person singing it is elderly and posh. (If you can't be bothered to read it, my Moz findings are at the bottom of the page).

It is a modern day version of Rolf Harris's Two Little Boys, written to reflect the attitude of modern Britain or America:

(Verse 1 - Sung in a posh voice)

Two little boys had two little toys
Each had a wrap of horse
Daily they scored each summer's day
Smack heads both of course
One little chav then had a mishap
Got nicked and went away
Wept for his gear and lived in fear
Until a new cellmate came

(Chorus 1 - Sung with an urban street voice)

Did yer fink I would leave you sweating
I've got horse up my arse for two
Let's shoot up 'ere, Jack now don't be snivelling
I 'ave also got blow and glue
When we grow up we'll both be dealerz
We'll have pit bulls and hoes for joy
And I wonder if we'll remember
When we woz two little boyz

(Verse 2 - posh voice)

Long years past, let out at last
Hoods up, they dealt away
Guns shot out, a gangland shoot out
Wounded and dying lay
Up goes a shout, a Hummer screeches out
Out from the local crew
Drives away, to where Joe lay
Then came a voice he knew

(Chorus 2 - urban voice)

I'm afraid I must leave you dying
Dare's no room in me whip for you
Stay down dare Joe, I hear the sirens
I must go or they'll bag me too
Did you say Joe I'm all a tremble, perhaps it's the siren's noize
But I think it's the drugs we did bruv, when we woz two little boys

(Chorus 3 - urban voice)

I'm afraid I must leave you dying
Dare's no room in me whip for you
Stay down dare Joe, I hear the sirens
I must go or they'll bag me too
Can you see Joe I'm all a tremble, perhaps it's the siren's noize
But I think it's the drugs we did bruv, when we woz two little boys

Anyway, enough of my lyrical genius, back to Moz. There would appear to have been no Superhero antics in book stores yesterday, although the incident from Sunday with the fainting old lady WAS apparently true, and has been reported on various internet sites. It would appear that Morrissey was on his own, browsing through the old photography section, when the woman lost her senses and fell to the floor. Our hero knelt down next to the woman, and offered to get her a glass of water or to call for help, but apparently she declined. Moz is also reported to have picked up the lady's stray belongings. She is alleged to have stroked his cheek as a way of thanks, and went on her way, not knowing who her saviour was, as did Moz (go on his way that is, he knows of course who he is!).

"THAT WAS MORRISSEY? OH SHIT, I SHOULD'VE ASKED FOR RADIO CITY TICKETS, THEY'RE LIKE FRIGGING GOLD DUST "

Yesterday, it was reported on Twitter that Morrissey visited 'Second Hand Rose Records', a record shop in Greenwich Village. It looks like a great shop, and I'm gutted that I didn't find it when I was in New York. It wasn't reported if a purchase was made.

SECOND HAND ROSE RECORDS - 48 EAST 12TH STREET - HOW DID I MISS IT?

The tweeter who reported the sighting in the resord shop was '@EmanuelleMiller', who stated, "Am pretty sure I just saw Morrissey and an unknown petite dark haired gal exit Second Hand Rose Records in Greenwich Village NYC. Sweeet!" Emanuelle later added, "I was behind them on the sidewalk as they were leaving the store. They got into a car that was waiting by the curb." So, who was the mystery woman? Could Moz have been out and about with True-To-You owner, Julia Riley?

IS THIS MORRISSEY & JULIA IN NEW YORK YESTERDAY?

I am slightly concerned that my reporting of Morrissey out and about in New York, is bordering on stalking. I started this blog (a year ago tomorrow by the way) as a way of showing my excitement at discovering MorrisseysWorld, but have I now gone too far? Is it time to stop this blog, or should I perhaps just write something when it is relevant to either MW or the Blue Rose Society? I DON'T want to be an internet stalker, and Morrissey shopping with a friend is a private affair, ISN'T IT? Maybe I should only write about such things in parody form. Please let me know your thoughts.

Morrissey has given two interviews by email in recent days (which reminds me, Our Mozzer HASN'T yet answered the rest of MY interview questions *coughs politely*), and there is some brilliantly witty Mozzisms. The first interview is with ThePheonix.com, and has the following brilliance:

ABOUT OTHERS: "It's not my business to make anyone else's life worse, although, God knows, I've tried."

ON ARTISTS: "At first you acknowledge that the artist's view is wider than your own, otherwise you would not be entranced by them. The second stage is normal despondency because they haven't actually noticed you on a personal level. The third stage is assassination. It all amounts to a particularly poor form of love." This surely is aimed at Morrissey's misguided 'fans' on Solow?

ON NEW DRUMMER ANTHONY BURULCICH: "Yes, he's good with his fists...and I don't just mean as a drummer. This helps when you're in the Morrissey Band because small kids tend to pick on you...with legitimate reason." Hahahahaha

ON BOSTON: "I have no interest in Boston's history. Just get me to a bar with an Internet jukebox." Is this a reference to The Twitterdilly Arms?

ALSO ON BOSTON: "Fifty years ago, I did a signing at the old Tower Records for the album Vauxhall and I. We were five blocks away from the store and already we were passing the queue. I couldn't believe it. I said, 'Those people are queueing for me?" I started crying. I expected 22 people at most."  Rosy Mires tweeted to say that the mention of "22 people" could be 'a sign'. She pointed out that I had written about 22 followers on Day 70 of my blog. God knows how she remembered that, I had long since forgotten. Personally, I don't think it's 'a sign', I think it's a genuine coincidence, but tomorrow I shall be blogging more about signs, and I shall also be looking at that 'original 22', to see where they stand now on MorrisseysWorld.

THE 'ORIGINAL 22' FROM DAY 70 - WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM? FIND OUT TOMORROW

The other Morrissey interview to surface is with the Australian news.com.au. It's a really good interview, but this blog entry of mine has now gone on for far too long, so I shall go through it in detail tomorrow.

Moz Factor continues to go well in The Twitterdilly Arms, and it would appear that Heather Cat has discovered a future star, by the name of Erin Merle Wallace (@ErinMerle). Her versions of 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out' and 'Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself' are beautiful, but her version of Sparks 'I Married Myself' is even better. Watch next Tuesday's chart at 12.45pm on twitter with @UpThePier to see if Erin makes the big time.

Finally Esther, it has today been announced that the singer Andy Williams has died. I grew up listening to Williams because my mum was a huge fan. We used to always watch the Andy Williams Show, and I used to love the cookie monster. Andy Williams's song 'So Little Time' featured in The Blue Rose/ Twitterdilly Arms Top 10 just two weeks ago. The lyrics now seem so VERY apt for Andy.

*Goes off singing* So little time to let you know, how much I love you, so little time, to let you know how much I care, and though I try to make believe this love of ours will last forever, it's just my heart that I deceive, because I know, oh yes I know, this sad old world, when we are gone, will go on spinning, these very stars, when we are gone, will shine as bright, so hold me in your arms until tomorrow, for there's so little time, so little time, tonight.

ANDY WILLIAMS 1927-2012

Day 377 - Top 10 Time

There has been no news today of The Mozziah in New York, but as NY is five hours behind the UK, and it's only 9.00am over there as I write this, I suppose that isn't surprising! If there is any bookshop shenanigans this afternoon, I shall report it tomorrow. I suppose it will be the same with the concerts, with the shows taking place while we Brits sleep, and we will no doubt wake up to very little You Tube footage. Arghhh!

NO NEWS FOR THE DISCIPLES

It was announced on TTY a while ago, that Morrissey would be appearing on the 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' show, so I guess that he'll be filming it very soon. I'm not too sure how far in advance they record, but Moz isn't in the listings for any of the days this week, although 'Two Door Cinema Club', 'Ricky Gervais' and 'Damian Lewis' are. I shall keep my eyes peeled, although if anybody knows, please leave comment.

MORRISSEY ON JIMMY FALLON IN 2009 - WILL WE SEE A REPEAT OF THE CONAN 'OO'?

'Moz Factor' has proven to be a hit, with a number of the regulars offering their judgement on the various singers. In many ways, it's like having karaoke night in the Twitterdilly Arms. Please continue to humour me, and do feel free to post your favourite You Tube Moz covers.

Also in the Twitterdilly Arms, at 12.45pm today, UK time, the brand new Blue Rose Top 10 was 'broadcast' by '@UpThePier', with Rita Pavone maintaining the top spot.

Day 373 - Informative Quiz Answers With New Photos

Thanks to all those who humoured me by taking part in my silly quiz. Congratulations to Heather Cat, who beat Girl Without by just 1 point, the Caramac bar is in the post. Here are all the questions again, this time with INFORMATIVE answers and some NEW PICTURES & CAPTIONS:

1. What did the mysterious twitter user, '@Bucktoothedboy', claim was his favourite song by The Smiths?

ANSWER: Stretch Out & Wait. BucktoothedBoy claimed on twitter, that he saw The Smiths sing this live in 1985. As I presumed that 'BucktoothedBoy' was in fact the actor and comedian, Russell Brand, I pointed out that he would have only been 9 in 1985! BucktoothedBoy replied that his sixteen year old sister had taken him to the concert. Russell Brand remains an ONLY child!

RUSSELL BRAND - TROUBLED BECAUSE HE WAS TOO YOUNG TO SEE THE SMITHS IN 1985?

2. On Dec 10th 2011, '@MorrisseysMum' tweeted, "Ladies and gentlemen prepare for the rerun return of Elsie Tanner. Si?" A reply came from @caterita2008 saying, "Si! Ora ho capito! Better late than never!" What happened on stage in Guadalajara on December 13th that 'may' have had a connection to these tweets?

ANSWER: On Dec 8th 2011, Boz Boorer appeared on stage at the Plaza Condesa in Mexico City wearing women's clothing for the first time in years. It was a suit and jacket. Five days later, in Guadalajara, the band played, wearing JUST Speedos, and Boz wore a dress and long haired wig, making him look VERY similar to Elsie Tanner. Boz continued to dress in ladies clothes for much of 2012, and was nicknamed 'Gaynor Tension' by Moz.
ELSIE TANNER - "BY 'ECK THAT BOZ BOORER COULD BE MY TWIN."

3. What was the first ever No.1 in the Twitterdilly Arms Top 10?

ANSWER: On Monday January 2nd 2012, I first wrote about 'The Twitterdilly Arms', a make believe pub on twitter, where we play You Tube songs on our make believe jukebox. The following day, '@Stillicling' volunteered to keep a list of EVERY You Tube song that was played in The Twitterdilly Arms, so a weekly chart could be produced. On Tuesday January 10th, the first chart was published on this blog, with 'Heart' by Rita Pavone taking the number 1 spot. Just a few hours after our first chart was published, True-To-You published Morrissey's 'own' Top 10, which had 'First of the Gang To Die' as number 1. The publishing of Morrissey's own Top 10 was of course, just a coincidence!

THE TWITTERDILLY ARMS & MORRISSEY'S NO.1's FROM JAN 10TH - COINCIDENCE, NOTHING ELSE!

4. Which tweeter introduced me to Dante, and what Morrissey song mentions Dante?

ANSWER: The mysterious '@dotdotdotpause' (now changed to '@dots_and_dots') introduced me to Dante. I nicknamed this tweeter my 'Spirit of Nico' as she/he claimed to be German. I continue to this day to converse regularly with 'Dot', but have NO idea who she/he is.
'Safe Warm Lancashire Home' mentions Dante, but this ISN'T mentioned in Mozipedia (unless it's in the updated version).

5. On November 3rd 2011, '@caterita2008' tweeted "@MorrisseysWorld Please, please, please...no." What appeared on British tv screens 7 days later to arouse my suspicions of Caterita's tweet?

ANSWER: The John Lewis Christmas advert featuring the song 'Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want." 'Caterita2008' explained that her tweet was just a coincidence.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE LET ME TWEET WHAT I WANT

6. On July 4th 2012, Morrissey's wikipedia web page was updated, making reference to the 'Blue Rose Society', comparing it to Oscar Wilde's 'Green Carnation'. The following morning, ALL reference to Blue Rose and Green Carnation on wiki had disappeared again, but WHAT did Morrissey wear in concert THAT night (July 5th)?

ANSWER: Morrissey wore a green carnation at Les Ardentes Festival in Liege. Users of the Morrissey-Solo website recognised that this was a reference to Oscar Wilde, but failed to link it to the Blue Rose/Green Carnation reference that they had read just the previous day on Wikipedia. It was just a coincidence anyway!

7. What is the twitter user name of the FIRST ever person to take a blue rose to a Moz concert? (CLUE: It happened in Japan)

ANSWER: '@Tokyo_Katie', who took a blue rose on May 3rd 2012 at Ebisu Garden Hall, Tokyo.

TOKYO KATIE - FIRST BLUE ROSE

8. Why, according to a parody story on MorrisseysWorld, did Morrissey continue to wear his finger plaster on stage, long after the finger had healed?

ANSWER: In a parody article on MorrisseysWorld, written in 2011, Morrissey wrote, "I might continue to wear the finger plaster, even after the finger has healed, to represent my journey of personal suffering." (Not the exact quote, but as the blog has disappeared, I can't remember it!) Morrissey has indeed continued to wear the finger plaster on stage from time to time, but it is just a coincidence.

MORRISSEY - STOPS OFF AT SAN DIEGO ON HIS JOURNEY OF PERSONAL SUFFERING AKA HIS TOUR!

9. Who did Our Mozzer claim sponsored his South American tour in one of his parody pieces?

ANSWER: Caramac. In the parody piece 'My Live Tour Journal Sudamerica', Our Mozzer wrote about a large shipment of Caramac arriving at his hotel. This had followed an unexplained 'tweet-pic' posted by '@MorrisseysWorld' of a Caramac bar.

ITV DRAMA SERIES 'MORRISSEYSWORLD' IS SPONSORED BY NESTLE CARAMAC

10. What was significant about the shirt Morrissey was wearing when he took to the stage at his birthday concert this year?

ANSWER: It was covered in roses (see picture under question 8)

11. What allegedly happened when Morrissey went for a haircut on November 18th 2011 at Rob's Chop Shop in Dallas?

ANSWER: Morrissey is alleged to have taken his hair trimmings away with him. The shop proprietor posted on his Facebook page that Morrissey had visited his shop, but he later removed the posting.

ROB'S CHOP SHOP IN DALLAS - A TAKEAWAY?

12. On April 22nd, who labelled the author of MorrisseysWorld a "deluded and mentally unstable nutcase" on the Morrissey-solo website?

ANSWER: Uncle Skinny aka Peter Finan. Uncle Skinny is a moderator on Morrissey-Solo, and is vehement in his hatred for MorrisseysWorld. He believes that 'I' am the author, although he has never offered up any explanation as to how I could possibly be making Morrissey wear a blue rose tie, make 'OO' signs on Conan, predict concerts in Argentina etc. When the promoters of Les Ardentes Festival listed '@itsMorrissey' as Morrissey's twitter account, I tweeted them to say that they had made a mistake. Uncle Skinny took umbrage to this, and wrote on Solo, "that cunty blogger had the shame, the gall, the effrontery, to contact the promotors of the Belgian festival." Former MorrisseysWorlders Rosy Mires, Stillicling and Nurse Cathy assure me that Skinny is a thoroughly nice man. Whilst he and his website continues to criticise Morrissey, and whilst he refers to me as a cunty blogger, I will just have to take their word for it.
'UNCLE SWEATY ARMPIT' (WHO BEARS MORE THAN A PASSING RESEMBLANCE TO KEITH CHEGWIN) - APPARENTLY A "THOROUGHLY NICE MAN."

13. In my recent interview with Our Mozzer, he promised a Uk tour in 2013. Which Leisure centre did he mention?

ANSWER: Bradford.

14. In my May interview with Morrissey, he answered EVERY question I put to him, apart from one, a question about the NME court case. Four hours after Morrissey published his answers, what appeared on True-To-You?

ANSWER: In my interview with Morrissey on May 17th, I asked, "All seems to have gone quiet on the NME court case, is it still going ahead, and if so when?" Morrissey answered "...", and just four hours later, TTY posted a statement saying that the court case was scheduled to start on July 16th. This was of course, just ANOTHER coincidence in a long list of many!

NME - EVENTUALLY APOLOGISED TO AVOID COURT

15. On August 22nd 2011, what did the MorrisseysWorld blogsite ask fans to wear to the upcoming US concerts?

ANSWER: A single white or red rose, devoid of thorns.

16. On September 6th 2011, the '@MorrisseysWorld' twitter account started. What website publicised it on September 14th 2011?

ANSWER: Morrissey's official website, True-To-You.net. The statement read, "Morrissey would like to stress that he has absolutely no affiliation with the site called MorrisseysWorld, and that the views expressed on MorrisseysWorld blog and Twitter page are not Morrissey's views, and do not come from Morrissey. Morrissey has no connection with this site. Please beware." A VERY strong denial, and yet a number of those who say that Morrissey is NOT behind MorrisseysWorld, now say he 'goes along with it', as it is their ONLY way of explaining the 'OO' signs, blue rose tie etc. The truth is, they don't know WHAT to believe.

MORRISSEY'S 'CONNECTION' REMAINS WITH TRUE-TO-YOU WEBSITE OWNER JULIA RILEY AND NOT WITH THE AUTHOR OF MORRISSEYSWORLD, WHOEVER IT MAY BE

17. What famous 80's singer named '@MorrissysWorld' his favourite twitter account in a national UK newspaper?

ANSWER: Boy George. Morrissey1959 once said in the MorrisseysWorld chat room that Boy George KNOWS that Morrissey is behind the blog. As to whether this is true or not, who knows? As Morrissey once famously said,"I lie a lot, it's really useful."

BOY GEORGE POPS AROUND TO MORRISSEY'S FOR A CUPPA

18a. What 'parody' twitter account had the below profile picture?
BOY GEORGE HAS TODAY TWEETED THAT HE HAS "FALLEN IN LOVE" WITH BIEBER.....LORD HELP US!

ANSWER: '@BiebersSadWorld'. It was one of a handful of parody accounts created by 'Our Mozzer'.

18b. Who blocked '@MorrisseysWorld' on twitter on October 10th 2011?

ANSWER: Johnny Marr. '@MorrisseysWorld' had tweeted to say that @Johnny_Marr was a great guitar player, and also a singer. Marr replied by saying "I am not worthy of your wit. Blocked."

JOHNNY MARR - "ALSO A SINGER"

19. Which member of The Smiths left a long winded comment on my blog in October 2011, saying, "I do regret that it had to go to trial and I'm also sorry that we all had to go through the process, but in my opinion, I wasn't wrong to take up proceedings in the first place, nor will I ever be?"

ANSWER: Mike Joyce. Principals are all well and good, but while Joyce maintains this stance, would Morrissey EVER consider sharing a stage with him again? Er, probably not.

INTERNET DJ & FORMER DRUMMER, MIKE JOYCE

20. On October 21st 2011, I claimed that the words 'Love MT Blue Rose' came to me in my sleep. What Morrissey song is this an anagram of?

ANSWER: Trouble Loves Me

21. On November 6th 2011, 'Morrissey1959' entered the MorrisseysWorld chat room, and talked about the time he lived in Kensington. What London Park did 'Morrissey1959' say that he and his band played football in?

ANSWER: Hyde Park

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IN GOAL TONIGHT, BOZ BOORER"

22. In an interview with a Brazilian magazine, Morrissey denied authorship of MorrisseysWorld (for the 4th time), but bizarrely said in the interview "I am seventeen." What did Our Mozzer later claim this was a reference to?

ANSWER: Justin Bieber's age. Nobody else has offered any other explanation for this bizarre quote.

23. In my parody story about the three wise men finding The Mozziah, what nationality are the wise men?

ANSWER: Bloody Welsh

24. In the film Porcile by Pasolini, who do I say is a dead ringer for the actor Pierre Clementi?

CLEMENTI AND BRAND - SEPARATED AT BIRTH OR IN THE CROWD OF THE SMITHS CONCERT IN 1985?

ANSWER: Russell Brand

25. At which festival did Morrissey appear on stage wearing a green carnation?

ANSWER: As mentioned in question 6, it was Les Ardentes Festival in Liege on July 5th 2012. Would it have created more debate had it been worn at a UK concert? Perhaps.

MORRISSEY ON STAGE IN LIEGE WEARING A GREEN CARNATION, WHICH MOST FANS HAVE PAID LITTLE ATTENTION TO

26. The photograph below featured on the MorrisseysWorld blog, but with no explanation as to why, and with NO name attached. Who is the photograph of, and which twitter user first told me his name?

BOBBY BRITT

ANSWER: The photograph is of 'dancer' Bobby Britt, who was arrested in 1927 for being an 'importuner of men'. Sergeant Arthur Spencer described him as a "nancy type". It was the mysterious '@dotdotdotpause' tweeter who identified Britt. Perhaps Our Mozzer just liked the picture.

27. At which concert did Morrissey 'pluck' the white rose from the audience, and during which song?

ANSWER: The concert was on March 17th 2012 in Bogota, Columbia. It was the very last concert of the South American tour and MorrisseysWorlders had just about given up hope of Morrissey taking a rose. During the song 'You Have Killed Me', Morrissey wasn't just handed the Columbian rose, he actually leant right into the audience to pluck it from a fan. The rose appears red because of the lighting, but it was actually white. In Oscar Wilde's 'The Nightingale and the Rose', a white rose is turned red with the blood of a nightingale. Just a coincidence of course.
MORRISSEY WITH A WHITE ROSE THAT TURNED RED

28. Morrissey wore his BLUE ROSE tie to receive the 'Key to the City' of WHICH city?

ANSWER: Morrissey was presented with the 'Key to the City' of Tel Aviv by Mayor Ron Huldai on July 21st 2012. Why WAS Morrissey wearing what has since been described as a "gaudy" blue rose tie? Could it be that Morrissey really IS 'playing along' with the MorrisseysWorld blog that he has described as "dangerous" and told his fans to "beware" of? Oh the contradiction of it all!
MORRISSEY RECEIVES THE KEY TO TEL AVIV IN HIS "GAUDY" BLUE ROSE TIE

29. WHO wears a blue rose in Twin Peaks?

ANSWER: Lil the dancer.

30. On November 7th 2011, the MorrisseysWorld blog published a collage of famous people making an 'OO' sign. On November 29th 2011, Morrissey guested on the Conan TV show in America and made the 'OO' sign. WHAT DID THIS PROVE?

ANSWER A: It proved beyond all doubt that Morrissey really is behind MorrisseysWorld.
ANSWER B: It proved nothing whatsoever.
