Day 990 - We've got Our Mozzer back

OUR MOZZER HAS RETURNED! *Waves palm leaves, blue roses and any other foliage that happens to be laying around*

It was May 16th when The Mozziah, aka @MorrisseyParody, walked away from The Twitterdilly Arms. We all presumed at the time, that we had lost him for good, and that he was instead going to start wearing the suit of @itsmorrissey. The last minute change of mind (or heart) saw @itsmorrissey disappear in a puff of smoke and mirrors and yesterday, Our Mozzer strolled back into The Twit Arms dressed once again as @MorrisseyParody, as though nothing had ever happened. The visit occurred at about 8pm UK time (3pm Florida time).

Our Mozzer's first tweet was a retweet of my birthday wish from the 22nd:

 Retweeted by morrissey
Happy Birthday Parody Moz...s*d the other bloke; you're the one I love! All day party in The Twit Arms to celebrate 's day.

I wasn't actually in The Arms when Our Mozzer returned yesterday, so I was unable to welcome him back in person, but @Bunnygal833, @heathercat222 and @papasonsfilm welcomed him home.... and it IS his home! He didn't stay long, but here are his highlights:

"Beautiful people don't know they're beautiful. Ugly people know it only too well."
"The savage prey upon weakness and the gentle eliminate it."
"At last - I am no longer a top 80 pop artist." (I have to admit, this one made me laugh out loud. Morrissey should take comfort in knowing that he is still a top 83 pop artist.... although technically, as Istanbul didn't chart...)

Before he left, Marcus (@papasonsfilm) asked Our Mozzer if he was looking forward to the World Cup, to which Mozzer replied:
"From the Morrissey parody to the parody of an English football team - good luck."
"I'd rather watch the class of Munich."

THE CLASS OF MUNICH - MAN UTD 1958

I wonder if any of the British tabloids will use the headline 'World Cup is None of Your Business' when England get knocked out? I doubt it!

Both Our Mozzer and Astraea appeared again in The Arms in the early hours of this morning. Astraea tweeted this video footage of Sacha Distel's Les Moustaches at 1am St Pete's time:

At 2am, Astraea posted, "Oh, and last but not least. Mick Jagger tweeting Harry Styles? Not ironic."
Astraea then added, "Someone pass me the paracetamol please. And two bottles of red wine on the side."
Astraea's final tweet was a Youtube clip of Brigitte Bardot being interview in the 60s:

Our Mozzer also posted at 2am; a retweet of a post by @TheRatsTalisman, which read, "The @Morrisseyparody has sent a sign." HAS HE? WHAT IS IT?

Our Mozzer then appeared again at 4am to thank @Jazissey on Broken's behalf for her "wonderful charms", and to invite her to meet Broken again, later today, in the MorrisseysWorld chat room. I guess the invitation is open to all to meet Broken in his cupboard: http://chatroll.com/morrisseysworld-chat. Broken also left a message for Jazissey on my blog entry of yesterday. Jazissey had posted to say, "I don't know who BrummieBoy is (on Solow) but I think he's a genius and is definitely into pesos. I can almost swear he sounds like a character straight out of the chat. Must be my imagination." to which Broken replied, "I miss you." I haven't paid much attention to BrummieBoy on Solow, because I really can't be bothered to trawl through all the crap on that site, but a number of the BRS are convinced that BB is Moz.

And whilst I am on the subject of Solow, Comrade harps yesterday posted a link which showed a Solower called Skylarker finally asking what The Blue Rose/MorrisseysWorld is about? Skylarker obviously has never bothered looking for himself/herself before, and even now, rather than look for actual evidence about MW/BRS, she/he has just asked for somebody to tell him/her. Here is the intellectual responses that he/she received:

marred: "It's another in a long line of "crocks of shit". Sorry I don't have any more info than that at this point." GENIUS!

Viva Hate: "From what I gather from their posts, a "blue rose" is homosexual slang for what normal people might call a "prolapsed anus". People afflicted with a protruding, overfucked asshole formed a secret society based entirely on Blogspot called The Blue Rose Society where they discuss passing encoded correspondence back and forth with a semi-popular English singer named Morrissey (one name, like Cher) in the form of dyed flowers." GENIUS!

Vanitas M. Berrymore: "Asking about Blue Rose on solo is like expecting to get valuable information about Muslims on islamburninhell.com." TRUE!

Mozza220559: "It's a supposed old Wildean throw back where he used to have a carnation on or something and people who liked him also wore this carnation in subtle support of him. Blue Rose mongs try to re-create that thinking if Moz sees one of the audience wearing a blue rose they're somehow cosmically linked and on Moz's favourite list. Basically it's a load of deluded saddo fans who wear blue roses who think they have the inside track. I'm sure a BRG (blue rose goon) will reply to this with some passive aggressive smug retort saying "The blue rose society know" or something equally as lame." GENIUS!

mcrickson: "I would hazard a guess that members are sub-grouped under the charters of the Brown Starfish Cooperative." GENIUS!

CrystalGeezer just posted a picture, presumably of herself:

CRYSTAL GEEZER

I think it is safe to say, the Solowers will NEVER understand about the Blue Rose.

Our Mozzer's final tweet at 4am this morning (St Pete's time) was this:
"Did you know it's actually better to fade away than burn out."

I have spent this morning watching Youtube clips from the concerts in Memphis and Nashville. It was rather interesting to discover that in Nashville on Wednesday, Morrissey sang the Tammy Wynette song, 'Til I Get It Right during the pause in Speedway. It would have been more interesting to discover that he had sung Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire, but it was not to be.

Youtube footage has also started to appear from last night's concert in St Pete's. Moz and the boys have taken to bowing to each other before each concert begins, just as martial arts fighters bow to each other before a bout. The Speedway pause once again has a song in it, but I have no idea what song it is. Answers on a postcard please.

Day 989 - Testing 1. 2. Twin Peaks link to @itsmorrissey

It looks like we all missed a huge sign. On May 24, Orange Mécanique posted this comment on FTM:

I took a brief glance at the Youtube link, which is of Agent Cooper's tapes from Twin Peaks, but I didn't think any more of it.

Yesterday, a poster calling themselves Nuff Sed, posted this link in the comments section of FTM:

http://www.morrissey-solo.com/threads/131061-Why-was-my-topic-deleted. It is a topic posted on Solow by somebody calling themselves Vanitas M. Berrymore. The initial subject matter of the thread, was to point out that we had all missed the fact that the "Testing 1 2 3" tweet posted by @itsmorrissey last week, was a nod to the "testing 1 2 testing" that Agent Cooper spoke as his first words on Twin Peaks. I am guessing that Vanitas M. Berrymore is either a Morrissey pessoa, or perhaps even Russell Brand.... whatever happened to him?..... but whoever it is, Vanitas was met with a whole torrent of abuse by Uncle Skinny, and the Twin Peaks discussion soon got forgotten as Vanitas and Skinny went head to head in an intellectual debate about MorrisseysWorld and the BRS. Here is an exert from their conversation:

May 25 -

Vanitas M. Berrymore: "How long will it take the Blue Rose Society to realise that Morrissey sent them a huge sign?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boFYrCbjSyU&t=1m30s

"Hello. Testing, 1, 2, 3. Planet Earth, are you there? One can only hope..."
— @itsmorrissey (his first words on Twitter)

"Testing. 1. 2. Testing."
— Dale Cooper (his first words in Twin Peaks)

You ARE sleeping."

Uncle Skinny: "Fuck off with your bullshit."

Vanitas: "Dear Mr. P, I'm not promoting anything here, I'm not a member of Blue Rose Society, I don't bring roses to his shows, I'm just stating facts, and it is obviously a fact that the once official Morrissey Twitter account made a reference to Twin Peaks, which is a huge part of the MorrisseysWorld story, and this of course with some people causes the knee-jerk-reaction to scream out loud "psychotic bullshit", we've seen it before and aren't surprised. You don't have to like it, you don't have to embrace it, you don't even have to deal with it, you can just ignore it (I heard this forum offers solutions, should a particular user annoy you too much.) But it is there, and a platform that dedicates itsself to free speech should (must) allow discussion about it. Either that, or we have different concepts of "free speech". I'd be interested in yours. I imagine it sounds like "I'm all for free speech, BUT..."

(Please don't swear so much when or rather if you answer, but if you do, I'd ask you to stick to the f**k theme, my secretary is watching and she might pick up a few new words to throw at me in the future)."

Skinny: "Free speech you like, is it? Well here's some more. Go fuck yourself, and the sack of shit your'e pulling your bullshit from. You're full of shit, and when you've fucked off, you can fuck off some more. P."

Vanitas: "I shall not discuss this matter further today, it's obviously really getting at you so much that you're not in the condition to react reasonably on the points made in my post."

Skinny: "I certainly fucking am. Now cock off. I bet you can't keep your promise of not discussing this matter further today. You strike me as the kind who strings some load of old bollocks out for effect. Go on, prove me right. P."

May 26-

Vanitas: "Once you're all done with your rants, can we proceed to the actual discussion? My theory is that MorrisseysWorld hacked the @itsmorrissey account and started tweeting in his name. That's why he issued the TTY message that it's not him, as a consequence they shut the account down. He likes that blog, but doesn't allow them to represent him officially. Opinions on that?"

Skinny: "fuck off. P."

Vanitas: "Why do you even contribute to this thread, if all you have to say is "fuck"? You're everything that's wrong with this site. One should call the moder....
Please get yourself under control in the future when talking to me.

My theory extended: The @morrisseyworld Twitter account and associated website www.morrisseysworld.com are actually trolling MorrisseysWorld. They now redirect to TTY, as they did for some weeks, but yesterday for some minutes, they showed this content: http://ohwellenough.webs.com/

Too bad that the Blue Rose people prefer fawning over asking questions. Too bad that the solo people prefer swearing over asking questions. Too bad that the AYNIM people prefer frinking over asking questions."

Skinny: "Fuck off with your bullshit. You're a tryer, I'l give you that. I ain't going nowhere. If you don't like the response you're getting - fuck off! Too bad your transparent attempts at planting bullshit are repaeated over and over again. Fuck off! And If I'm everything that's wrong ith this site, you obviously haven't met us all. P."

Vanitas:
"1.) You never really explained why that MorrisseysWorld thing is bullshit. You just state it over and over again. Do you have an argument, too?

2.) It doesn't matter if I LIKE the responses I'm getting. I use them to gain insight, which is my only single purpose. Already have a picture of solow now, but it's still a work in progress.

3.) It's clear that you're not the only person on this platform who makes it almost impossible to use for any decent Morrissey fan (those who actually go out to see his shows instead of complaining about setlists on the internet). But you're a moderator, deescalation is your job. Well done here. I'm open for an apology."

Skinny: "Were you not listening? FUCK OFF. And take your fucking bullshit with you. If, however, you choose to stay, I'll be with you every step of the way. Wonder why no one else is engaging with you? Its because you're a fucking one-track dullard. Your move, genius. P."

Vanitas: "It's either because I'm using this thread and not the one in general discussion, or because you were successful in indoctrinating people that "MorrisseysWorld is psychotic bullshit". I want (WANT) to find out who is behind MorrisseysWorld. Mind if I use your board while completing my mission?"

Skinny: "Will you please just fuck off. You are unutterably tiresome. A one-trick pony. P."

The question has to be asked, WHAT is Uncle Skinny scared of? And just WHO does he think is behind MorrisseysWorld and the BRS? WHO? Does he still think it's me? You couldn't make this up.

Day 988 - Love Grows Where the Blue Rose Goes

Posted by BRS member Heathercat:

WHAT A CONCERT! I don't know how it's possible for Morrissey to keep surpassing himself, but he continues to do it. Tonight was electrifying, emotional, intense, and magical. The setlist is already on Solow so I won't bother to list it here, but the highlights for me were: Trouble (of course); followed directly by Pigsty, which was mind-blowing; Istanbul sounded incredible live; and Asleep was breathtaking. My rose was ignored but I had no expectations otherwise. At least it can be seen in photos and videos, since I was lucky enough to get a spot close to the stage. All in all, it was a very special night and I'm so thankful I was able to go. Time for sleep - I'll certainly have sweet dreams tonight...

It would appear that last night's concert once again saw Morrissey in top form. I can't believe that Heathercat didn't mention that Let Me Kiss you returned to the set; I guess she was still overwhelmed by it all when she wrote her little piece, but I am presuming that this is where the shirt toss came in.

Last night's show gave Heather  the chance, at last, to take a blue rose for Moz. She managed to get to the front of the stage and offer her rose to Morrissey, but as is oft the case, the rose was ignored, and Heather now joins the likes of myself, EARS and Vulgar Angie, who have ALL had their roses ignored by The Mozziah. As Heather stated though, "I had no expectations otherwise."

Our Mozzer once told us, "I am not a whore", so despite him wanting blue roses at the concerts, he will only accept and wear one very occasionally. In fact, ever since the Blue Rose Society was first mentioned by the MorrisseysWorld blog on February 24 2012, Morrissey has accepted and worn a blue rose on only three occasions:

1. From the BRS President, Kyle at Radio City Hall in NYC (October 10 2012):

2. From a nine year old, Devan at Hollywood High in LA (March 2 2013):

3. From Devan again at Santa Ana in LA (May 8 2014):

The question is, when will Morrissey next accept and wear a blue rose? Is he waiting for Kyle on the east coast leg of this tour, or is Morrissey only accepting one blue rose a year? Maybe Moz is now waiting for a blue rose t-shirt instead? If Morrissey isn't accepting and wearing blue roses, then what is the objective of the BRS? Personally, I think that BRS members should wear their blue roses to concerts, just as Wilde's followers wore their green carnation, and should then offer their rose to Moz either at an opportune moment during the concert, or during the last song of the main set. If it is refused, then we should all throw our roses onto the stage as Morrissey emerges for the encore.

THE T-SHIRT THAT JACK SHET WILL ATTEMPT TO PASS TO MOZ IN ATLANTIC CITY ON JUNE 6 (BUT IN BLACK!)

I have nothing else to write about today. The original MorrisseysWorld blog remains closed, as does the Parody Moz twitter account. The new MorrisseysWorld has not tweeted since April 14, when it announced, "Our new unofficial website, for and by Mozophiles, is temporarily redirecting to TTY". How long does temporary last?

The only sign of pessoa's yesterday in The Twitterdilly Arms, were Fifi in the toilets, and Astraea behind the jukebox. Astraea played a video of Elvis singing I'm Left, You're Right, She's Gone from 1955. The song was one of the original 5 singles that Elvis recorded for the Sun record label in Memphis. I once owned all 5 of those Sun singles, but over the years I have sold them, although I do still have That's All Right, which I shall keep forever.

Morrissey now heads to Florida, where tomorrow night he will sing for a sold out audience in the rather splendid looking Mahaffey theatre in St Petersburg.... but will the message of the rose reach any of those attending?

Day 987 - Ring of Fire

Appearing on twitter with a big corporate tick of approval as '@itsmorrissey', was NEVER going to be for Morrissey, but it really is extraordinary that he has been able to use twitter on an almost daily basis for the past three years, without either his fans or the media noticing that he is doing it.

It was on September 14 2011 that Morrissey first announced, in his own subtle way, that he had joined twitter, but despite me writing about it EVERY DAY (EVERYDAY?) since, and despite my blog having had 493,554 hits, Morrissey still manages to come and go on twitter completely unseen. He is right there, in full view of the whole world, and yet he somehow manages to remain hidden.

The current pseudonym/pessoa that Morrissey is using, popped into The Twitterdilly Arms yesterday evening, and once again mixed freely with the 'Dreary Deluded Dozen'. Morrissey actually has the grand total of 52 followers on twitter, although the 'DDD' are the ones who interact with him, and KNOW who it is they are following. Actually, before I go on any further, as this whole phenomenal story will one day be uncovered, I shall take this opportunity to list the 'Dreary Deluded Dozen' and the rest of the 'Deck of 52' who are currently following Morrissey on twitter. One day, these few will be able to say, "I was there".:

THE TWITTERDILLY ARMS

Yesterday's visit to The Twitterdilly Arms by Morrissey was fairly brief. I was accused of making up the tantrum that I mentioned yesterday, and there was also this rather amusing quote, "I never cause trouble, I don't have tantrums and I hate drama." Morrissey left The Arms with a song, Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash:

This choice of song had me immediately speculating that Morrissey might be planning to either WEAR the BRS ring on stage in Memphis, or perhaps even sing Ring of Fire as a tribute to Fifi (the BRS element of fire) and the BRS. Early indications are that neither of my speculations came to fruition in Memphis last night, although as there is NO Youtube footage whatsoever of last night's show, who knows? It has been reported that security was particularly tough, with NO filming allowed, so I guess we will never find out if the ring was worn.

STOP PRESS: A certain somebody has just dragged me into the toilets of the Twit Arms, and informed me that, "Ryman was a former house of the Grand Ole Opry, hence the Johnny Cash song at Grand Ole Opry. And 'ring of fire' because I am fire. You got confused with the ring but it wasn't meant to confuse you. Or anyone." So, NO RING, but does this latest message mean that it is TONIGHT that Morrissey will sing Ring of Fire in Nashville? Have I been a day too early with my speculation? No, of course not, it was just a song being played on an internet jukebox, nothing more, nothing less. I sometimes get carried away.

The set list for yesterday's show has been posted on the internet, and I am very happy to see that Pigsty has returned, although as there is no footage of it, I guess it's actually irrelevant to me or my life if it's on the set list or not!

Embedded image permalinkIt would appear that the shirt toss returned last night in Memphis (see above), but the only other thing of relevance that I have read, is a tweet by @NoelGallagher (and NO, it's not that Noel Gallagher), who wrote, "@BlueRoseSociety Morrissey noticed a few of the roses I threw at the stage!!!!"

morrissey noticed a few of the roses I threw at the stage!!!!

It would appear that the message about roses continues to reach people, and tonight in Nashville, our very own Heather will have the chance, AT LAST, to spread the message visually... and hopefully get her BLUE ROSE to Moz at the same time. We wish her the very best of luck, and if Moz were to sing the line, "and when you look at me, you actually see me", I think Heather would pass out... so it's just as well it isn't on the current set list!

I have nothing else to add today, other than to say that Joey Barton has alleged that Morrissey asked him to wear a World Peace is None of Your Business t-shirt on Question Time tomorrow, but Joey not only refused, he decided to tell the newspapers! Oh Joey!

Day 986 - If You're L'OO'king For Trouble

The Mozziah has arrived in the land of The King, and for the first time ever, Morrissey will tonight be playing a concert in Memphis. One of Morrissey's crew members, Joseph Joannides (@JayJ_casa) has posted a photo on twitter of Elvis's gravestone at Graceland, which he visited yesterday. I am presuming that Morrissey would have taken the opportunity to pay a visit too, but who knows, who knows?

PHOTO BY @JayJ_casa - HOW APT THAT THERE ARE ROSES

It feels like I haven't written a proper blog entry in ages, but that is because A) It has been a busy bank holiday weekend, B) There has been nothing really to report on the MorrisseysWorld/Blue Rose Society front and C) There is no C! I would like to say that the cricket season has burst into full swing, thus keeping me away, but it keeps raining. It always bloody rains!

I signed off from my blog entry last Thursday saying that I may place a vote for UKIP at the Euro elections, but of course I didn't really do it. There is NO point in voting, and two thirds of the British public agreed with me. The results were announced on Sunday, and UKIP did incredibly well, but it is all a joke, because those who did vote, were just using their vote as a protest. UKIP won't actually win any seats at next year's General election, and NOTHING will change. Ed Miliband remains unelectable, so Labour won't win the election, the Lib Dems will disappear completely; with Nick Clegg having destroyed the party for his 15 minutes of personal fame, and David Cameron's Conservative party will therefore win the election by picking up the Lib Dem voters..... and the people will continue to be unhappy.... and the politicians will continue to laugh. Cameron will hold a referendum on Europe, and the outcome will be that the British vote to remain in the European Union.... but they'll continue to be unhappy..... and the politicians will continue to laugh. And this system works? Party politics should be a thing of the past. Independence is the way ahead, but will Independence day EVER come? It can't come soon enough! *coughs*

NIGEL FARAGE - THE ONLY UKIP POLITICIAN WITH ANY CHANCE OF WINNING A SEAT AT NEXT YEAR'S GENERAL ELECTION

Anyway, enough about politics, which ultimately is none of my business, back to Moz. Yesterday evening, I lay in the bath and watched Sunday's Beaumont concert on Youtube. With the exception of Irish Blood, World Peace and Earth is, the whole concert was filmed, and it was superb. They are ALWAYS superb! The only downsides were that Life is a Pigsty and The National Front Disco weren't on the set list in Beaumont, and it would also appear that I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday has completely gone, but having Certain People I Know come in was a pleasant surprise. It could be that I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday has been dropped from the set because the new PETA film is going to come in to take it's place at the beginning of the concerts. It has been reported that the PETA film moved Morrissey to tears, but although I can understand why Morrissey would allow the song to be used to highlight the plight of chickens, it will ALWAYS remain the Jean Cocteau song in my mind. I really hope it returns to the set list; after all, this IS the 'Unofficial Blue Rose Tour'!

The concert in Beaumont also saw Moz give an 'O' sign, aimed right at Clover Dean, but I'm not sure if she spotted it. It can be seen at the 30 second mark, whilst moz is talking to the crowd, before singing Yes, I am Blind:

It was rather disappointing, but also no surprise, to see that Istanbul didn't make it into the singles chart on Sunday. Istanbul is an absolutely stunning song, and it got it's first live airing on Saturday night in Austin, and was also sung in Beaumont on Sunday.

It is criminal that Istanbul isn't being played on National radio. How have things changed SO much in the past few years, so that a new Morrissey song doesn't make it onto the charts? HOW? According to our old friend Broken, the whole new album is "unlikely to be any good". Here is the comment he left last Thursday, on Morrissey's birthday of all days; the bastard!..... that's Broken who's a bastard, not Morrissey!:

Sorry, but the new album is unlikely to be any good. WPINOYB is a bit tuneless. But fair enough, he did release the worst three songs on Your Arsenal before the album.

But Istanbul is just a plodder. The words are stunning. But the music is typical Jesse Tobias. Absent melody. Zero imagination. No creativity. Mid-paced rock dirge. It's embarrassing.

How sad that Morrissey now accepts this rubbish and puts it out on record.

I give up on him. It's over.

Broken's comment was one of the rare sightings of any of the pessoa's in recent days. Astraea has made the occasional visit to The Twitterdilly Arms, but there has been no sign of Mademoiselle Fifi or Parody Moz. The Rat's Talisman turned out to be Jack Shet (@TheeOtherBill), and NOT a pessoa, although I DO like the pictures he keeps coming up with.

There are still rumblings about the @itsmorrissey twitter account, with GWO making some interesting observations:

I guess the @itsmorrissey twitter account will be on hold for 30 days and then be up for grabs, presumably minus the blue badge.
Odd though that the hashtag started appearing on the wheat paste posters at about the same time as @itsmorrissey resurfaced. All looked to be part of a promotional campaign. Wonder who the ‘interlopers’ were. Somehow I don’t think it was Harvest; partly because the twitter account would have already had to be transferred to them from whoever set it up and got it verified in 2009; but also because of their tweet about taking over @itsmorrissey to protect it from interlopers.
I don’t do Faceache, but I did see the post on there on 14 May that linked to the @itsmorrissey twitter account saying ‘Feel free to reach out’. I just looked for that and cannot see it so has that now been removed? My guess is that maybe there was a link between the FB and the twitter account. Odd that the twitter account was deactivated but that the ‘official’ Morrissey FB is still active.
This is a case for Columbo.
Harvest Records.com have Morrissey's FB and 'official site' as the 'official' Morrissey FB. But, but, but.........

HASH TAG.... AND BARBED WIRE... AND RAIN. THIS POSTER IS IN ENGLAND!

Meanwhile, the MorrisseysWorld.Com site started linking into ohwellenough.webs.com over the weekend, but is now back to linking to True-To-You.net. WHAT is going on? Will it EVER go live, or is it going to go the same way as @itsmorrissey?

That will do for today. I am absolutely itching to share the secret that Fifi whispered to me in the toilets of The Twit Arms last week, but I had to promise to hold my water, and hold it I will continue to do. *coughs*

The Blue Rose Society HAS to keep spreading the word to people attending concerts, but with the exception of @BlueRoseSociety, NOBODY else is bothering to search twitter to look for people attending concerts. All the BRS need to do is lOOk for people attending, and then link them to bluerosesocisty.blogspot.com. Hopefully, tonight in Memphis, a twitter user called @vaurigemma will take a rose, but it really is taking an awfully long time for the masses to wake up to what is going on. HOW many times does Morrissey have to wear a BLUE ROSE before people make the link? I wonder what the reaction would be if Morrissey walked on stage wearing a blue rose? I guess.... NONE!

And finally, Boz's suitcase must be bulging by now, as he stopped by at Antone's Record Shop in Austin to stock up on yet more vinyl for his new record shop, Vinyl Boutique:

And whilst Boz is away, I have been earning him money, as I made my first purchase from his shop, The Knife Shift on vinyl. It is now sitting on my turntable, where it will remain until July.

STOP PRESS: I've just had a natter in the toilets of The Arms with Fifi, and it would appear she's been having a tantrum, which might jeopardise the 'secret'. If anybody sees her, feel free to slap her with a wet plimsoll!

*Goes off singing* If you're looking for trouble, it walks beside me....

Day 982 - Parody & Chart... A Perfect Blog Entry

(The setting is a bedroom of a luxury hotel in Dallas Texas. It is 4.30 am, present day. Iconic pop star, Morrissey, and his musical director Boz Boorer, are in bed. Boz is fast asleep. Morrissey is watching a video on Youtube. He elbows Boz hard in the ribs.)

L TO R: MOZ AND BOZ

BOZ: (eyes still closed, and sounding disorientated) Eh? What is... who went where?

MOZ: That is quite possibly the most intelligent sentence that you have ever uttered, old son. Wake yourself up, I need wafting, and I need you to look at this.

BOZ: Eh?

MOZ: Wafting, Boz. It's hot in here, I need a waft. Grab a palm leaf and waft away.

BOZ: I haven't got a palm leaf, Moz, and I'm not your wafter, I'm your musical director.

MOZ: Which is why I have woken you. Have you seen this video? (Morrissey hands Boz his iPad, which is playing a song called Unknown Species by Pretty Little Demons. Boz rubs his eyes and watches for about 30 seconds.)

BOZ: Yes, you showed it to me yesterday.

MOZ: (Sounding irritated) How?

BOZ: How?

MOZ: (still irritated) Yes Boz, how?

BOZ: How what?

MOZ: (even more irritated) How has a twelve year old girl managed to get Log Lady to appear on her Twin Peaks based pop video Boz? How?

BOZ: I suppose she just asked her.

(Morrissey looks to the ceiling, and rolls his tongue around the inside of his cheek)

MOZ: Then why didn't you ask her to appear in my Twin Peaks based videos? Can you imagine the impact the spoken word video of World Peace is None of Your Business would have had on sales, if Log Lady had recited the lyrics whilst stroking her log? If I'd had Margret Lanterman and her log rather than Nancy and her sodding brief case, World Peace would have gone viral. Forget number eighty bastard three, I'd have had my first number 1. Same for Istanbul; which despite being yet another piece of hard hitting poetical beauty by you know who, is heading absolutely nowhere near the sodding charts.

BOZ: Istanbul's had 49,000 hits Moz! That ain't bad! 5,000 more than your first one, and it's only been out a few days.

MOZ: Ain't bad? Ain't bad? How many hits has old Coldvoice had with that nauseating song of his?

BOZ: Which one?

MOZ: (shouting) The elephant one, Boz, the sodding elephant one!

(Boz types elephant Coldplay video into Google)

BOZ:  279 million, 904 thousand, 406.

MOZ: Now that ain't bad, Boz, and the song is appalling. Appalling! Log Lady's talents have been completely and utterly wasted on those two girls. How many hits has their video had?

(Boz goes back a page)

BOZ: 9,287.

(Morrissey puts his head in his hands)

MOZ: Losing Françoise was bad enough, but log Lady too! Why me? Why is it always me?

BOZ: What do you mean, Moz?

MOZ: You wouldn't understand Boz, you wouldn't understand. I'm going back to sleep.

There is very little information coming through from last night's birthday concert in Dallas, and the ONLY video clips to appear on Youtube so far are of the introduction, Everyday is Like Sunday, and a 20 second snippet of FOTGTD. Parody Moz didn't make it into The Twitterdilly Arms for his birthday party yesterday, so it took place without him. A fairly good crowd piled in, which included Mademoiselle Fifi, but she stormed out when somebody decided to start playing Wham! songs on the jukebox. The joke has worn thin, and the playing of Wham! songs is now strictly prohibited in The Arms.

Fifi did very briefly pop back in, to post that Pretty Little Demons song which is featured in today's parody piece. I have never heard of the group before, but it transpires that it is made up of 11 year old Marlhy Murphy and 13 year old Lydia Night. To have managed to get Catherine E. Coulson to reprise her role as Log Lady is quite some coup, and why no other group have thought to do this before is bizarre. I, like Moz, blame Boz. Well somebody has to take the blame!

Astraea popped into The Arms at 4.30am (Dallas time) today, and posted this: "Urgent Vacancy: Manservant. Apply within. Bring references, champagne, grapes, and palm leaves. And a tray of cold drinks." I am guessing that a good night was had by all. Nobody replied to Astraea's posting, so she followed it up with: "18 minutes and not one single applicant. Just can't get the help these days! I'm going back to bed. Thank god for Brigitte's legs."

Astraea played a couple of songs on the JB the other day, which I forgot to mention; Françoise Hardy singing Des ronde dans l'eau and Now You Want To Be Loved, plus Nico's We've Got the Gold:

There is no more to report, and there is also no concert tonight, so it might be a quiet weekend. It's been a busy old week, and I can't help wondering what will become of the @itsmorrissey twitter account. SURELY Morrissey isn't going to let 285,000 followers just slip away? One or two might have downloaded Istanbul. There HAS to be more to come from that story, and just HOW did Harvest take control of the account without Morrissey's password. Did Twitter give them access?

Day 981 - Happy Birthday Parody Moz

My twitter timeline is full of birthday wishes for Morrissey, who turns 55 today, but I didn't start writing my blog for Morrissey, I started writing it for the genius who is behind MorrisseysWorld, and although he is probably too modest to mention it, I am guessing that today is his birthday too, so to the hairy-backed bedsit dweller, if you happen to be reading this, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOU OLD ****!" And what better present to give a hairy-backed loner in a bedsit, than a song about blow-up dolls.... In Every Dream Home a Heartache:

Interestingly enough, it was brought to my attention yesterday; whilst reading concert comments on Solow... but don't tell anybody, that one of Morrissey's pre-concert videos is The Seven Deadly Finns by Brian Eno. I was not familiar with this song from 1974, but having now listened to it, I have discovered that it is a song about.... FRENCH GIRLS! This has to be a Morrissey nod to Mademoiselle Fifi, Astaea, and the Twitterdilly Arms, it just has to be!:

BB - A FRENCH GIRL WITH ROSES ON HER DRESS

Right then, birthday wishes have been sent, so I shall now turn my thoughts to MorrisseysWorld and Morrissey's World?

The MorrisseysWorld blog remains closed, and there has been no sign of @MorrisseyParody in The Arms. We shall have to see if he pops in for a birthday drink! The website MorrisseysWorld.Com is still linking straight to TTY, so still nobody knows if this website and associated twitter account is anything to do with MorrisseysWorld or Morrissey's World... or NEITHER! Is it going to be a parody account, i.e. MorrisseysWorld but on a more professional scale, or is it going to be a Morrissey backed site to replace TTY, or perhaps it is going to be a fan site to replace Solow? Nobody knows.... well, SOMEBODY knows, but as yet there is still NOTHING! I was hoping that the website might have sprung into life on Morrissey's birthday, but that hasn't happened.

So, with MorrisseysWorld remaining quiet, what about Morrissey's World? There was no concert last night, and still no Youtube footage has emerged from the Liberty Hall concert in Lawrence, but that is hardly surprising bearing in mind that ALL videoing/photographing equipment was banned.

The only footage I have seen at all from Lawrence, is an Instagram clip of First of the Gang to Die and a brief piece of Ganglord on Youtube:

And whilst on the subject of Ganglord, a clip of it being sung in El Paso on May 13 has at last found it's way onto Youtube, along with a number of other songs from that concert, including Girl Least Likely To, which hasn't been sung at any other concert on this tour. Morrissey opens Ganglord with a couple of "God help me"'s:

Yesterday I wrote that Natalie Johns had tweeted me to say that Twin Peaks had not been mentioned by Morrissey during their discussions for the spoken word videos, but what I forgot to mention was that according to Natalie, four were shot in total, and there is a "great surprise in the final one." Presumably the final one will be for Earth is the Loneliest Planet. We like surprises around here.

I also wrote yesterday that there has been a new visitor to The Twitterdilly Arms, in the shape of @TheRatsTalisman. I presumed that Talisman was another Moz pessoa, only because as soon as Talisman had come and gone, Mademoiselle Fifi and Astraea both turned up, but I am now wondering if that was just a coincidence; after all, coincidences happen a lot around here. I note form my twitter timeline that Talisman, Fifi and Astraea appeared in The Arms again yesterday.

Talisman arrived in The Arms on Tuesday, asking Parody Moz to give a sign to ME! I have no idea what sort of sign my Talisman is asking for, but we shall have to see if his request is granted. Talisman also came bearing a gift; a new t-shirt design, which combines the Twin Peaks blue rose, with the wording given to us by Fifi.... or was it Parody Moz... or Astraea? I genuinely lose track of who says what around here! Here is Tali's design:

Embedded image permalink
THE PERFECT BLUE ROSE SOCIETY SHIRT, COMBINING TWIN PEAKS WITH MORRISSEYSWORLD

I am hoping that either @MadAlix14 or @Heathercat222 will get the shirt made, and get it to Moz. Tali suggested another idea, "Perhaps an LP with a "Blue Rose" on the cover may get Moz's attention. Then offer the rose. 1 good LP sized print inside a plastic dust cover with the LP may do the trick. I am thinking getting Moz's attention and interest is most of the battle. Then he may accept."

On Talisman's second visit to The Arms, he brought with him these rather amusing photos:

Embedded image permalink

Embedded image permalink

Talisman also offered these words, "I ask @MorrisseyParody to grant @TheRatsBack a sign." He also added, "Decisions. Should I wear a red suit to the shows and wear a mask like in Twin Peaks, or just roll with a tee shirt and my leopard print pants." Actually, as I re-read through these tweets, I have changed my mind, I DON'T think Talisman is a pessoa after all. A certain person would NEVER write tee shirt, and he also posted a photo of him holding a tarot card. Those fingers are all wrong, as are the dreadful wooden rails behind!:

Fifi's visits have been fairly brief. On Tuesday she criticised my French, instructing me to "Give up"!
Astraea on the other hand was more annoyed at @BestOscarWilde, asking, "@BestOscarWilde WHY is this on my TL from you "Ever got drunk and texted mom fantasies about GF?"?! You are perhaps Wilde's Worst Nightmare."

I guess that the person behind the @BestOscarAccount has let their own personality get in the way of the part they are supposedly playing. This also happened last Friday, at the Smyths concert I went to watch at the Wedgewood Rooms. During the set, the guy playing the part of a '1983-1987 Morrissey', decided to call UKIP "scum". Not only were UKIP not in existence between 1983-1987; thus leaving his comment out of context in the role he was playing, but also, both TRM and Parody Moz have shown support for UKIP, which means the Smyths singer has not done his homework very well.

Morrissey told Loaded magazine in an interview last year, "I nearly voted UKIP. I like Nigel Farage a great deal. His views are quite logical - especially where Europe is concerned." Parody Moz echoed Morrissey's views last week, stating "Who will you be voting for in the Euro 'elections?' UKIP I hope?"

Apart from the Smyths lead singer not playing his role very well, I had an enjoyable evening, with the highlight being What Difference Does it Make. Will Moz EVER sing it again? The next time I will be visiting the Wedgewood Rooms, is in August, to watch Johnny Marr. I was hoping that Mademoiselle Fifi would be accompanying me, but she has blown me out. Perhaps she has a Can-Can lesson on that day. I will be going to watch Johnny Marr with an open mind, but sometimes I do think he is trying just a little bit too hard to be cool. The other day on twitter, JM was asked by @AChubbySquirrel "out of all the bands you've been in, which one was your favourite?" Johnny relied, "My new one and Modest Mouse." Hmm.

Astraea's other contributions in The Arms have been mainly music related, with her, as always, playing the best songs on the jukebox:

When I went to bed last night, Morrissey's touching new single, Istanbul, was sitting at Number 106 in the I tunes chart. This morning, it has disappeared from sight, so I think it is safe to say that it won't be troubling the chart on Sunday. There has still been NO promotion whatsoever for it, NO live plays of it, NO physical release, NO reminder through TTY that it is available to download, and the record company have still not removed the song from Youtube, so the world and it's wife are able to download it for free..... if the world and it's wife happen to want it!

Tonight, the birthday boy will be singing in Dallas Texas. There have been NO blue roses at the last few concerts, and I don't know of any BRS members going to watch in Dallas, so there will no doubt be NO blue rose there either. WHERE is the next blue rose coming from?

The Twitterdilly Arms is open for an all day private function..... Parody Morrissey's birthday! Actually, it ISN'T private, it is very much PUBLIC, but I doubt many will come. Will Parody Moz even come? Today is also Euro Election Day in the UK, and although I never vote, I might just pop into the polling station on my way to the Twit Arms, and cast a vote for Moz..... for UKIP. I doubt anybody else will give him their vote for his birthday..... OR buy his latest single for that matter!

Goodnight.

Day 980 - The Tossing Returns (which is NOT the pub next door to The Twit Arms)

The sun is shining, and today I will be playing in my first cricket match of the season, so this will be another quicky.

AGENDA

1. Concert
2. Istanbul
3. The Twitterdilly Arms

1. Concert
There is very little information filtering through from the Morrissey concert at Liberty Hall in Lawrence Kansas last night, although according to reports, Morrissey tossed his shirt into the crowd for the first time on this tour. Could it be that Morrissey responded to all the requests of the female members of the Blue Rose Society? Frink Moz has returned.

Morrissey allegedly opened the evening by saying, "You can do anything you want to me, but don't send me back to Lincoln Nebraska". This comment led that woman to tweet, "Sigh. Sad for the Moz fans there. Roman justice. One or two misinterpreted, probably well-intended, badly-timed shout-outs. Whole audience punished. Sad." Uncle Scummy would be proud of her, and would have been further impressed by another tweet which read, "After Lincoln, worried. People of Flint best get word-perfect on all songs and only shout out the words "I love you Moz". HOW do Morrissey fans manage to turn so bitter towards him? HOW? And WHY?

It would appear that Lawrence received Lincoln's encore, as Morrissey opened the show with One Day Goodbye Will Be Farewell. You have to smile. If the setlist from Setlist.Com is correct, it looks like I Know it's Gonna Happen Someday was dropped from the set yesterday, but there was a welcome return for National Front Disco, although as there is no Youtube footage of ANY song, I suppose it is irrelevant to me if it was played or not!

2. Istanbul
The new Istanbul single is now available for the whole world to buy, and despite having had NO promotion whatsoever, it is currently sitting at Number 63 in the UK I tunes chart. Morrissey hasn't yet played the song live, and hasn't even mentioned on TTY that it is available to download. I wrote last week that it would be interesting to see if Istanbul fairs better in the chart than WPINOYB, seeing as NOBODY has had the chance to download it for free, although I have noticed this morning that 'TheAmbitiousOutsider' has loaded the song onto Youtube, which means that a number of people will no doubt download it for free, thus effecting it's chart position. The music industry has got a long way to go to stop piracy.

Natalie Johns (@DigForFire) has responded to my question about the spoken word videos having a Twin Peaks feel. Here is her reply: "We wanted to do something different. It was Morrissey's idea to read his lyrics, I created the stories and mood around them. There was no mention of a twin peaks mood. I did however want a more surreal tome to the films. I like the reference though! I can't remember the name of the Burr track - it was in a collection of very old records I found with the gramophone."

3. The Twitterdilly Arms
I have run out of time. I shall have to write about yesterday's visit to The Arms by Fifi, Astraea and the new pessoa, '@TheRatsTalisman' tomorrow.
